I was looking at a Lionel post war transformer car 2461. It is missing the rubber stamping from the sides of the flat car and was listed as a factory error. But in looking at the car, I think it may be just an early variation. The car has a red transformer with decals on both sides. The flat car has no rubber stamping in either side, but is stamped "2461" on the underside. The car is in the original box with the proper insert. In looking around on the Internet I did find pictures of another car with no rubber stamping on the sides and with the number stamped on the bottom. Any thoughts as to weather this car is a actual variation? Maybe early 1947?
