Do they even make them anymore? Need one.

Yes. Check Lionel parts website. They use to have them in stock. G

Went there put in number I have nothing came up for 6102911010.
Did you change the search by to part number vice product? It does come up, but is unavailable right now. I would call Lionel to confirm, or else you need to find a dealer that has them in stock. A few might. G
Lionel no longer makes them and it appears there are none to be found. So I have purchased command base and connector cable for nothing and a Lionel engine that I can't operate in command. Frustrated and wish the tutorial video mentioned the need for this the videos only shows you needed the tmcc/tiu cable. My bad for not search in further. Lionel should continue to supply these in my opinion but obviously want you to move to their new (expensive) systems. Not going to happen.
Some one sold you a command base with out the power supply? Have you tried Ebay, you may find it there. Or you can always go with the CAB-1L. G

Yes but it was my bad as I didn't think I needed anything but the connector cables. The seller said Command Base only . I have no use now for items I paid app. $70 for.
I just bought one a few months ago from lionel
Ralph,
As I just mentioned in the other thread, there are some aftermarket supplies with grounded (three prong) adapters out there. Let me get home this evening and verify which one is good to get (I use one).
Hang in there.
Don't let a seemingly non-forthcoming seller turn you off from this. You will love having DCS and TMCC on your layout.
Ralph:
I am in the same boat! I noticed a few months ago (March?) that Lionel had them in stock. Then when I finally put a parts order together, the Lionel site says "unavailable."
I need that power supply and I kept checking to see if they got more in stock from China, but the site still says "unavailable."
Let me know if you find one.

You're lucky. Called them and no longer have them and won't be making more. I am frustrated in that I traded for this engine and purchased around $70 of additional items thinking I would be able to operate it on my dcs system and can't over one little power source. Lionel is no longer in my future engine wise for sure.

Thanks, Dave. Let me know if you find anything.
That is a 12 volt AC output at 100 ma. There are many on the ebay for less than $10 including shipping. Radio Shack might have one. Be careful to get an AC output. A search on ebay brings up mostly DC outputs, but there are some AC ones.
Also you might have to change the plug...so pick one with a barrel connector and you might get lucky to have the right dimensions.
Has anyone checked to see if the Cab-1L power brick has the same connector and power rating as the old TMCC one? If they are not the same, I'm kinda surprised Lionel didn't plan ahead like that.
Also, can't you tap into Pin 5 of the serial connector and tie that to ground as a way to get around the house not having a ground connection?

I have been told by others this is a particular one and not any 12 volt AC will work. I believe Gunner posted something to that effect in another thread I searched.

Oh that's right, the power supply has to have the outside barrel of the plug connected to the house ground pin. So forget my idea unless you can do the modification in the wall wart power supply.
There is this...
Here's one with three output terminals. The center one may be the house ground, I'm not sure. You would have to add your own wire and barrel connector.
http://www.amazon.com/Class-II...rds=wall+transformer
I found searching for 12VAC wall transformer brought better results than searching for 12VAC wall power supply.
Here is the alternative to use in a pinch - use a similarly sized 12vac wall wart and run a wire from pin 5 of the Command Base RS232/DB9 port to the ground screw of a nearby grounded metal duplex outlet or household electrical ground until you get the right adapter.
The Lionel part is HERE if they ever become available again.
I have a new one in the box, if interested, email is in profile...
Marty
Martin for the win!!
Marty:
I just saw your post. is it still available?
John Knapp
yes it still is...
Marty
Marty:
OK- Let me know specifics- price, etc. Email address in my profile.
Thank you,
John Knapp
As others have stated, you just need to provide your own connection from the house ground to the command base, Rob has the easiest way, pin 5 of the DB-9 serial port connector.
John, didn't Dale M used to sell a breakout-inline adapter for this that let you still plug in the TMCC to DCS cable?
I know for those of us who have the skill it's an easy project.
Ralph: If you have problems doing this and finding something, I would be happy to make you a "break out" for your system. No charge. Parts are super cheap. That way all you need is a standard A VAC wall wart power supply.
Heck if I live anywhere close I'd come by in person and get you running.
Again, don't give up on this... as you can see, plenty of us around here want to help you get up and running.
As I said in the other thread, I am sorry you ran into an unknowledgeable seller. This stuff really isn't as complicated as he made it for you.
Thanks, Dave. I think I found one. If it falls through I will take you up on the offer. Can't tell you how much help you have been and the generosity of your offer.
Ralph,
I purchased one from NASSAU TRAINS not too long ago!!!
