Correct me if I'm wrong but haven't you worked with Mth on some of their past NYC area models like the SIRT s-2? Do you know who to email over there to make sure they do this one correct? I would hate to pay like $400.00 for an incorrect Brunswick green version of this engine; now knowing it was indeed black.

Just the SIRT Staten Island S-2 AlCo. Bill Siemens was the color scheme guy. Might still be there, not sure. I gave up sending them stuff. They didn't seem to be interested in suggestions.

Brunswick green looks black in old photos. It could be correct as well?  I'm sure MTH has a good collection of photos to go by. White was used but later on they experimented with silver as on an S-2 & C420 looking for better safety. I'm sure the diesel will be correct but keep in mind the LIRR tried different versions at times.

Thanks for the info; and I feel the same way about Mth's customer service these days. They were so much better 10 years ago!

I try to collect 1 or 2 pieces from each era on the Long Island. If it's done right this will be a sharp looking engine pulling freight and passenger alongside my Lionel b6.
