I was looking at a SGL G3 Reading Pacific but the seller is not sure what the min radius is. Does anyone know?

According to the instruction manual, that engine operates on 072 or larger.
The original full page color flyer for these locomotives and the accompanying passenger cars ("turtleback blimps") states: "The 3-rail passenger sets require O-72 curves or larger." Since O-72 reflects the diameter, the minimum radius is 36".
So I would be good with an 048 curve for the engine ?

Hope you are NOT confusing radius, i.e. 48" R, with diameter (048 in 3-Rail terms). In other words, if your minimum RADIUS is 48" (which is 096 in 3-Rail terms), then you are OK.
Yes, I have run mine on O-42 curves without issue
