So are mine, unfortunately. 
I just finished re-reading "on Time" by Franklin M Reck. It's the story of EMC/EMD and was written in 1948 just as EMD was reaching its stride.
He talks about the first gas electric doodlebugs, the first diesel electrics, the development of the E units and of the F units. Lots of fun and a quick read.

Apparently there is a later edition from 1950 that includes Canadian production.
Could we get one that goes to ....say around 1960 - '62 ?????? Oh Yeah !
Now I know where you took these pictures! Cincinnati RR Museum in Ky. When I saw # 5888, I knew. I was there maybe about 5 years ago. When I was there, they had no shelter for anything. Shame as there is a lot of interesting equipment there.
