"HONGZ" stands for HO scale, N scale, G scale, and Z scale.

Post your non-O scale stuff here!

To run my LGB engines, especially those with digital sound, I decided to invest in a lab quality switching mode power supply. I chose a 0-30 volt, 3 amp unit with an LED digital display. By feeding a constant voltage of 22 volts into a 5 amp PIKO throttle, I have enough power to smoothly run my four-motor LGB  A-B-A diesel with digital sound at about 2 amps. The result is a smooth running and sounding engine with negligible ripple voltage.

LGB motors and sound systems do not like pulse power or unregulated DC. Both LGB and PIKO produce 5 amp switching mode power supplies to mate with their respective 5 amp throttles, but I decided on a lab quality supply to take it a notch up. There are obviously multiple options for regulated power packs, including several made by LGB.
