Gentlepeople,

I need a copy of the plan(s) for the oil tender(s) the C&S 800 - 804, E-4A, series of locomotives had  late '40s - mid '50s.   This small group of locos are very similar to the CB&Q O-1 Mikados, hence similar to the O-1a of a later time.  Three of the series were assigned to operate as the Cheyenne switcher, provide some power between Denver and Cheyenne, and as a helper north of Cheyenne.

I wish to compare the CB&Q tender plans, which I have, with the C&S plans which I will acquire.  Please post both here and email to rovetta at juno dot com

The C&S auxiliary tenders were used in the 1950's steam era with C&S  2-10-2's and ChipR's E4a 2-8-2's.  Also tenders were used in work train service and with wrecking derricks. In fact, the auxiliary water tender used with 4960 ended up with the Aurora derrick, following the demise of steam fantrips on the "Q".  Lines East O1a 2-8-2's used auxiliary water cars out of Centralia and Quincy, IL during the steam era, although those were tank cars. And on the Alliance Division with 2-10-2's.
