Start spreading the news, I'm leaving today, I want to be a part of it ...

come on, you know the rest...

NEW YORK, NEW YORK

Yes, that's right, it's taken 61 years, but the TCA is finally holding a convention in The Big Apple area.  For more details, check out the convention website:

Make sure to put your mouse over the "scroll up" and "scroll down" buttons on the left side of the page to see all that there is.  On the "activities" page, find a trip or tour your interested in and click on it to read a full page description about it.

Finally, if you didn't make it to the TCA convention in Cherry Hill last month, now's your chance to pick up one of our limited Convention Shirts (either Izod polo/golf style or the GO APE Hanes Beefy t-shirt).  That and more is in the "convention store" page.    Here's a direct link to the store:

So, start spreading the news; I hope you want to be a part of it when TCA goes to New York, New York.

METCA READYING FOR THE 2015 TCA NATIONAL CONVENTION  - Rick Dunn Reporting

There is a very special group of individuals, led by Division President Stu Rankin, who are getting ready to party in New York City. The presentation by Stu and Rich Levow, Trips & Tours Chairperson, at the 2014 Convention in Philadelphia, was electric. They have put together a Tour Package which will astound you. The biggest problem is going to be available space on the tours. So if you are planning a vacation around the National Convention I advise you to stay in touch with their website .

Thanks Bob.

I would like to point out that space on some of our trips and tours is extremely limited.  This is not our choice.  Some of the venues that we are visiting have limited the number of people that we can accommodate.

I would strongly suggest that people consider registering for the convention via the website that you gave in your posting.

I have made the hotel reservations yesterday. This is the first time an hotel has accepted reservations before the first of the year of the convention itself. I have decided which tours we plan to go on. First tour on Monday. Second tour on Tuesday, Wednesday is a free day so if anyone attending the convention also has no tour plans for Wednesday we can do our own tour since my living in the New York City metro area all of my life I can take us just about anywhere. One of my favorite places to go is up the Hudson River and to the top of Bear Mountain then the drive the Storm King Highway and then across the Hudson River to Cold Springs where you can watch trains on both sides of the Hudson River and also any river traffic and have lunch in or outside of the former New York Central Station with Amtrak and Metro-North trains passing right by your table. Third tour on Thursday plus the welcoming party.
