Gents, I have the VisionLine CC2S with an issue. No smoke from the Stack. There are no blinking lights from the cab to warn as an issue.
I added fluid and I cannot hear a fan nor do I smell anything coming from the stack.
the whistle and blow down works well. So my issue…. It bothers me to pack it up and ship it for repair……. Is this something a mere mortal can do himself? I heard CC2S are difficult.

Only you can answer that question. The good news is, the parts for the smoke unit and the control board are all available, so it's probably possible to restore it. I hasten to add, I've had a couple of these on the bench, and they are quite busy in there.

@Alabama Joe, In my opinion, this feature rich locomotive is well worth fixing to A-Plus condition. It was one of the very first VisionLine locomotives that runs so good. If I remember correctly, Gunrunner John purchased one of these beauties at a phenomenal price, fixer up. Happy Railroading Everyone

If you click on "View Parts" for the locomotive, you should find what you need in that list.
All the smoke unit parts are available as shown above. The smoke control boards manages all the smoke units, and it's also available.
