I don't really think of submarines. . . tugboats. . . barges. . . aircraft carriers. . . or necessarily oceans relating to the Hill Country of Texas but - - - - > that certainly is the beauty of investing in a custom TW TrainWorx layout because collaborating on YOUR ideas with Traingineer's Roger Farkash and Mike Reagan can "get 'er done!"

Our Traintastic Customer had several places for specific reasons he wanted included in his layout; San Diego Naval Base, Nuclear Subs are stationed out of both east and west coast (Florida - California) He has family in California and a home within 10 miles of the east coast Nuclear Sub Base and also on the east coast he often sees tugboats sailing in and out because of the large corrugated box plant nearby.

In the center of the layout is the Dallas Union Station, Guadalupe Cathedral (also in Dallas) and cutouts of some of the more familiar Dallas Skyline... Reunion Ball, etc.

Because inquiring Trainiac minds want to know....

The Traingineers custom modeled the Mission Church on the San Diego side (left side as you are looking at layout) as well as; Dallas Union Station, Dallas Skyline, small church on the Florida side of layout (right hand), purchased the tug boat, made the barge, ordered from eBay part of the GI Joe Submarine and then modified it, and all of the really cool bridges (three of them) were custom modeled, painted and added to layout by our most talented Traingineers!

Toughest part for this TrainDame is the Postpartum Blues I go through when the layout exits the studio... but I get cheery very quickly because new layouts are COMING IN - - - its a LAYOUT WAVE on the horizon for 2019  - PTL!

Enjoy photos taken from the installation:

dorcie, OMG wow this is just over the top. love the sea ports and sub.

some day when I retire or close to it.  I want to build a mid size modular layout. focusing on train operations like the ho guys do. I have several large lionel accessories that need incorporated into a few moduals. I keep all of rogers and mikes layout photos and sceens, plus pics of the under the layout storage/shelves ideas in my head. when that day comes I hope to be able to call you and have some work done. till then let everbody know at the shop they really bring a smile to my face and a warm fuzzy in my heart with all thier layout builds. they bring the kid out in me again. thanks as alaways for sharing the guys work here in the forum.

So cool Roger! Thank you for your feedback and keep dreaming YOUR layout dream - it will happen! I'll be sure to pass on your kind words to the Traingineers Have a wonderful weekend!!

HA! HA! HA!  That's very funny.  When I looked at the sub I saw the eyes and the teeth and thought to myself it must be the Tiger Shark.  And, what do you know, IT IS.  Had to get the magnifying glass out to see the name. But, very cool.  And the layout is pretty cool too.  How many others noticed the eyes and the teeth?

Dorcie, that is absolutely AWESOME, what a beautiful job they have done on that layout.  I'm sure the owner will have tons and tons of fun with it.  I wonder if he'd consider adopting me as his grandson so I can go over and run his trains.   How cool that would be.  All kidding aside, they did a terrific job on it and once again, they never cease to amaze me when they are done.

Thanks for sharing.
