"HONGZ" stands for HO scale, N scale, G scale, and Z scale.

Post your non-O scale stuff here!

Those two animal handlers have their hands full unloading that tiger family and the elephants! The lioness and her cubs are still in the cage trailer on the flatcar. All animal figures are by Schleich of Germany. Their figures are beautifully done and are pretty close to 1:22.5 scale. Schleich is a German firm but their products are made in China. They can be found in better toy stores or online and are reasonably priced for the quality of product.

A few closeups: Photo 1 on left shows an African female elephant and her two calfs, and to the right of her is an Asian female elephant. Photo 2 shows a circus trailer with a female lion and her two cubs inside the cage. Finally, in the right photo is a female Bengal tiger with her three cubs and the male at the circus car doorway about to come down the ramp. The trainer standing by is presumably ready! Keen observers will note the African elephants tend to be more grayish, and have larger and different shaped ears from their Asian counterparts, while the Asian elephants tend to be more brownish in color, and somewhat smaller in stature. As mentioned earlier, all animal figures in the photos are the accurately and beautifully hand painted Schleich figures by the German firm, although actually produced in China and Tunisia.

I just enjoy setting up a tableau or small display. As a toy train person, I especially like that aspect of LGB: reasonably detailed, yet still toy-like in overall appearance. I also have two standard gauge loops on either side of my R2 LGB oval. I do not sweat the scenary or detailed modeling, though I appreciate those with the skills to do so. My niche in this hobby works for me.

I have never run my LGB outdoors with the exception of my two LGB/Aster Frank S locos, and a few passenger cars behind it. I precisely like the toy-like look of most LGB engines and cars, and prefer the European 750 & 1000mm gauge models. At any rate, my current residence is a two-story brick townhome in Nashville proper, and we do not have much of a backyard especially with our detached garage and apartment on the second floor. I am very pleased with my indoor layout, and that is what really counts!
