Looking good Alex. Lots of progress made.
Alex,
What is the height to the top of the plywood? 3FT?
Great work Alex, nice and fast, keep the updates coming, looking forward to them.
Like others have said: you-the-MAN!
Hi everyone,
I thank you all for the kind comments.
Kevin, my last layout table height was 38 inches, i wanted my new layout table height higher.
So we went with 44 inches.
Thanks
Alex
Alex; looking good. Do you have a track plan yet?
Alex; looking good. Do you have a track plan yet?
Yes Alex, Spence has a great question.
I think 44 inches is a good height. My last layout was 50 inches; a little too high. My current temporary 4x8 is 32 for logistical reasons.
Hi Spence, and Mark,
Yes we have a track plan, but this isn't the final plan. There might be two or three changes.
A huge thank you to John Brendle, and also Carl Tarrach, Alex Muller.
LOWER MAIN LINES IN BLACK, UPPER MAIN IN GREEN AND BLUE
Keep on keeping on. Looks fantastic!!!
Nice, nice, nice. Thanks for keeping us up to date.
Looks pretty nice Alex, you're cruising along at a good pace!
Alex, it looks great so far. I see you have access hatches in the corners but it still looks like its a long reach to some of the walls. How do you plan to work on those areas?
Pete
Hi Guys thanks for the kind comments
Pete, those access hatches are no longer on the new set of plans
There will be a total of 4 access hatches in different areas. There's also a few more changes
that will take place. I will post a final plan in a few weeks
Thanks very much
alex
Looks like a great combination of operating layout; and, structures and scenery.
Thanks for bringing your fellow forum members along for the ride with the photos and updates.
Quick question: Was your old layout in O gauge mag, in February/March of 2015 issue?
Neat plans Alex! Thanks for the update.
Alex,
Thanks for the insight on the Turn Table and height. My last layout started at 40 and at times hit the 50+ height - the little folks had a hard time enjoying it.
But since they re older now - maybe I will keep the 40 as the starting point

Hello everyone,
The lower main lines are in and are running, still a long way to go. But little by little we are make great progress, see photo's and video below

Progress, progress, progress... Love it!!!
Alex,
You and John have made excellent progress. Trains will be running soon on the JADA!
Wow Alex,
That was quick! There is nothing like the first run on a new layout
Keep the updates coming.
Richard
Now you're making progress!
I love the plan, should be a lot of fun to play with!
That is looking great. Can't wait to see what magic you work in there next!
Looks great so far. John Who?
Richie (Former NMRC, NLOE, NJHR, and Current NJHR)
Thanks for the new photos and video; looks great!
Track work on your new layout is looking great! You are making great progress. Nothing like having the trains run again.
Love the choice of engine for the first run.
Happy railroading,
Don
I was wondering where John went.
Looking good my friend !
Been looking for your posts on the new lay-out. Glad to see progress, you dugh-man. Nice pics and video. You and John keep going, will be looking for the next post!
Alex, those Ross sweeping curves and the double cross over look fantastic. Thanks for posting the pics & video.
Alex,
Looks like you and John did a great job of laying down the track on Saturday. Curves look smooth with no kinks.
Before you go any further put your Big Boy on one track and your longest passenger tracks on the other. Do this in each curve to make sure the BB overhang does not hit the passenger cars. You will be glad you checked, that BB has a lot more overhang than the Y you were running.
At the BDSME we have one curve where if you are running a 18" passenger car train you have to stop if the BB is in the curve.
It is nice to see the JADA RR off to a great start.

lOOING GOOD! BIG PROJECT, THAT IS FOR SURE.
Alex
That was quite a marathon work session we had yesterday, just a bit shy of 10 hours . I'm still recuperating.
Thanks for letting my Y6b make the inaugural run and thanks for working your magic on all my locomotives.
Hey Alex, This is Fantastic Progress, a Great Plan, and What's really cool, is how you are keeping us updated with your progress. I think building a layout is almost more pleasure than running trains. Your hard work will pay off in the end, I think this will be a Museum Quality Layout. Congratulations and keep up the great work. Happy Railroading.
Looking good.
Very nice Alex. Keep us appraised of your progress.
I love that moment when you make the first run on a new layout!
Al
Lots of progress, Alex. Great feeling when you can finally run trains after a long absence. Looking very GOOD!
