Looks awesome so far Alex.
Looks great, and looking forward to the 8th so we can see it in person.
Really nice Alex.. great trackplan!
Wonderful progress, Alex. Looks like you are getting ready for your big event in a couple of weeks. Your guests should have a great time.
Alex,
Really coming along and looking real good, going to be a fantastic layout for sure.

Great progress.
Looking great Alex, can't wait to see it on the 8th.
Looking really good Alex. Keep us posted on your progress.
Great progress Alex!! I really like the track plan!
Alan
If I could make 1 suggestion....use Tortoise switch machines and ditch the DZ1000's, especially the ones that are hard to reach.
Wonderful looking!
Peter
Alex,
I've enjoyed watching your new layout take shape. It is really a nice plan and uses your space well. Excellent workmanship.
Relooking your plan, I have a very late comment. My track plan has a double track main too and it is set up for right hand traffic if I want to run it that way. If you wanted to run yours that way, the outside track is set up well for that: You cross the double crossover than go over the reversing track right into the inside track going the correct direction. However, if you are doing right traffic on the inside track, after the reversing track you wind up on the inside track again going the wrong direction with no way to get back over to the outside track until the double crossover.
I would (and this is just me) add a crossover of right hand switches on the back (top) double main just to the left of the switches used for the reversing tracks. This will allow you to get back to right hand traffic quickly as well as allowing single track operation on the outside track while switching the industry tracks on the inside track. Just a thought.
Hello everyone, thanks for all the great comments!!!!
Doug, I agree with you using Tortoise switch machines, this will be in the future plans.
For now it will have to be the DZ1000's, I'm already in York mode, Building and building LOL !!!!!
Ron, See my photo's below we added switches so we can reverse trains in either direction. Is this what you're talking about.
Thanks to all,
Alex

Looking great Alex!
Ray.
Nice to see some more progress, been seeing others, kept saying where's Alex's. I know you have been making sure all the track and wiring are without flaw and while that is going on, not much to show. When do you think you will be able to start on the scenery?
Don't think we will make to the Open house this year, but will be glad when we can make it up and over there again.
Nice! Keep the photos coming...please.
Alex,
All the progress looks great! Keep the pics coming!
Angelo
Beautiful workmanship and well-executed plan, Alex. Thanks for the photos.
Looks great. I'm so jealous of that turntable and roundhouse And those huge curves! Keep the photos coming.
Alex, it was a pleasure coming up to assist you in getting the control panel wired. Good friends. A few good laughs. Good food (I gained three pounds that weekend! LOL). See you and Dina at the open house.
Excellent work! Love the updated photos...you are making great progress.
Yes, great work.....but, what's in the box?
what's in the box?

what's in the box?
Alex,
Great looking layout. Keep the pictures of your" Water Level Route" coming. The round house area looks as if will be a very nice engine service facility when it is completed.
Richard
Alex, amazing progress since I visited to pick up my engine. Looking really good and the control panel looks great not to mention the turn table.

Alex,
I'm on travel. As soon as I get home I'll make a picture showing what I mean. Basically it is installing a crossover with right hand switches in front of the Sant Fe F3 in your pictures above.
Thanks Jeff, Ray, Loyal2Lionel, Angelo, Carl, Sean, Keith, Richard , and Kevin .
Redball, I won't be able to start the scenery anytime soon. Most likely late this winter.
Johnny, it was great hanging out with you for a few days !!!!
Engineer Joe, I wish there was something for me in the box, It's an ERR upgrade project .
Thanks,
Alex
Did a quick run through the whole post hoping to find some comments on your choice of GG for the track system. You have done a beautiful job with the sweeping curves and over all appearance.
Just curious - why did you go with GG rather than Atlas or Scaletrax?
Your welcome Alex!
Alex,
Great progress on the layout ! Looking good man.
Wow, amazing work Alex, and it seems to be in some kind of record time as well. I am always amazed when I see wiring so nice and neat! You are really very organized. I would love to see your layout sometime. Great work. Rich
Alex: The layout is really moving ahead well. Your electronics, especially the wiring, are well organized and neatly installed.
Hi Sam, one of my reasons for using GG flex track and Ross switches is the wood ties
the other reason is excellent reliability.
Rich(Chooch) thanks for the nice comments, sometimes I don't know how i do it LOL!!
I build models and repair engines everyday, and on top of that i completely rebuilt the entire basement and layout, with exercise and everyday life too!!!!! LOL!!
Charlie, thanks buddy. always looking forward to seeing your progress
Pennsynut, thanks for the kind words. I must also give credit to WMTrainnut (johnny)
for the neat wiring, he has spent at least 5 full days working on that with me.
Thanks,
alex
alex
you da man!! you do it all. Can't wait to see some scenery upon the new JADA RR.
BTW still waiting for you to visit the TMB club

Steve thanks, the only thing now is I'm in York mode, so there won't be anymore progress on the layout. Until November. Somehow i will get to come and see your club layout !!!
Alex
Alex,
Wow! What a wonderful setup! Love the neatness of your wiring. Please continue with the updates.
Keep up the great work.
Alex
I am amazed at the speed at which you are moving. Seems like only yesterday that we were putting down the first piece of track.
The turntable/roundhouse area is looking great
Great progress, Alex!
And I like the final track plan
I see you have a lot (all?) of the track in place over cork roadbed, over bare plywood. Will you be doing any surface treatment to the plywood prior to ballasting the track or applying ground cover?
Thank you for sharing!
Alex
