Once I a pretty long freight train going around the layout. When I heard the sound of a boxcar off the track.I look around and spoted a katy boxcar that had derail.Well I started to spot the train but the boxcar rerailed itself.I know it sounds far fetched but thats what happen. And it stayed on the tracks no more derailments. In amother chase I had a coupler to pop open and had a rear end train wreck. The caboese was almost on top of the locomotive.A few other boxcars looked like they were paraell parked. As I went over there to clean up the wreck.I felt like I was in a helocoper looking down at it.Aw man look at that!!I said to myself.I am sure that I not the only one that has this happe. So fellow lets hear from ya!!

Your self rerailing boxcar wouldn't surprize me at all, if you pulled it through the diverging side of a trailing point switch. In HO in particular, I would let a car go to the next trailing point turnout, if it was derailed to the diverging side of the turnout. More often than not that would work very well, especially if it was just one axle that was derailed. I don't know if a real railroad would try that, but in the model world, it can be very handy, especially in a hard to reach location, which of course would be the least likely place for it to work
