Wow an "action movie" thats unrealistic.  How can this be??  Surely all the other ones made over the years are.

It was a hell of alot more entertaining than this yawner

Image result for silver streak

Side note:

As someone who drives a Mack truck for a living.  The dubbing over of  Detroit diesel sounds for that Mack RS700 in the Convoy movie  is absolutely reprehensible.

Unstoppable's Chris Pine also piloted the Starship Enterprise. Talk about prototypical...

If I want realism, I turn off the TV and surely don't look for it in the movie theater.

PS, photo is a pic of an actual diesel locomotive.

Terry-Thanks!!!!! I knew I saw him someplace else but for the life of me I coudln't place him!!! That's right! The "Young" James T. Kirk! Thanks again! Boy getting old really does stink! LOL!!

Chris Pine  also played  Steve Trevor in the movie Wonder Women.  ** Disclaimer here: Wonder Women wasn't based on true events **

Now I am in complete distress. Chris Pine is a total fake and disappointment. I thought he was a prototypical actor, only performing in authentic films, filmed within prototypical constraints.

I'm real. Ask my granddaughters and they will tell you who Santa really is.

Those who believe, receive. Disrespect "The Beard" and you will find a lump of coal in your stocking next year. And yes, I'm still delivering trains. This little darling is 5 now and got her Pink train for Christmas this year. Her 3 year old sister has her Purple train.

Don't leave a LionChief remote laying around unless you want one of these girls to be running your train!

I did get to watch Unstoppable being filmed in Benwood WV, Bellaire OH and Martins Ferry OH.  The police cars chasing 777 and wrecking was hilarious.

Watching the movie, one must suspend belief and the Laws of Physics.

Somewhere I have pics of the tank cars used in the movie.  They were at Buncher Railcar in Youngwood, PA after filming to have the movie lettering removed.

I don’t see anyone complaining about The Polar Express.

Very good point! Talk about suspension of belief and the lack of anything resembling prototypical railroad operation. But it's fun to view, which is all it is intended to be.

Hmm, I find this more believable.

rr16Look at how real that looks.

Unstoppable was awesome. Didn't they have a train up on one side as it rounded a corner at high speed?

Which the laws of physics would not allow.

Laws of physics, Wonder Woman is a fake, this topic is full of fun sponges. Sucking up all the fun

Do you not see the difference between a movie meant to be fantasy, and a movie attempting to be realistic, and failing because it's too fanciful?

Nope, I didn't think I was watching a documentary but my guy Denzel owned the screen

You want shocking suspension of belief???

I've heard some run their trains on THREE RAILS!

Incredible!

We can only hope these wayward souls return to the sanity of 2 rail S gauge model trains!

Mark

Metro North, Long Island and others run 3rd rail.  Outside third rail.

The London underground actually runs on FOUR rails!  Two running, one for negative, and one for positive power.

Reminds me of a 1974 made for TV movie called Runaway!  A Ski Train from Winter Park to Jackson City (aka Denver Union Station) lost it's brakes and couldn't stop and the dispatcher dispatched a new 'super diesel' ( aka a GP-40) to couple on the rear car and bring the train to a stop. This was filmed on the D&RGW and I remember seeing 2 units lettered Serra Pacific running back and forth on the line for about a month.

Another train disaster movie that was taking place in Colorado was call 'Atomic train!' A derailment of a train carrying a nuclear bomb derailed and exploded in the mountains. I guess Glenwood Springs got vaporized.

Both of those movies were far worse than Unstoppable.  And you can add "Disaster on the Coastliner" to that list.

I remember watching this movie as well and I doubt it won any film awards but I would like to see it again only because of where and when it was filmed.
