I recently saved up enough of my "allowance" to purchase a B&O BEEF set from RMT for my new 0-27 table. I had been eyeing it for a few months and had been waiting for one of their frequent sales.

I recieved my BEEF and was very impressed, but it would not pull a car around a standard 0-27 turn on my table. Upon examination the pilot was too narrow. I was upset as I knew the website stated it would handle 0-27, but alas it did not say that it would pull something through 0-27. So, having seen other positive comments about RMT on another site I sent a note to their service email and explained my problem.

About one and half hours later my wife tells me a Walter from RMT is on the phone asking for me. Wow! I wasn't expecting that. Walter and I spoke for about 15 minutes discussing my problem and possible solutions. He mentioned that in trying to keep the BEEF as prototypical as possible they had to keep the pilot narrow. We also discussed RMTs future projects and trains in general.

In summary, I was very pleased with the response and personal nature in which RMT does their business. I was able to solve my problem (though they should state the 0-27 issue on their website) satisfactorily, and after that experience I plan on making RMT my Primary source of purchases. I also, just like their stuff a lot. They have a cool old style EMU that will debut in 13 in their catalog that looks really cool.

I always enjoy talking trains with an RMT customer but especially trying to answer a question or concern with an RMT item.

In this case, by discussing the use of an RMT BEEF A-A set on a specific 0-27 track layout, we were able to solve the concern.

While RMT tries to plan for every possible use of a product, each toy train operator's layout is truly different and I respect that. It is what makes toy trains a personal hobby for each of us.

Thank you.

PS: Many new RMT arrivals next week will be posted on RMT website and email notification will be made to all RMT email subscribers.

I love RMT, particularly their BEEPS - I must have about 24 or more, a majority bashed or modified as to looks, and I have a set of four BEEFs I like nearly as much, four BANGS which are nice little diesels (and they pull very well on O-36), and a Budd car.

A point of some concern is that all of them have been bulletproof except, I recently bought three BEEPS (or the new type with the tethers between units) and two have died completely - some sort of electrical failure clearly as they respond to nothing at all - no lights, etc.  A bit worrisome.  Still . . .

I own 6 Beeps and love them! I have 3 Bethlehem Steel models (1 Bethlehem Steel, 2 Lackawanna Bethlehem Steel - South Buffalo Railway) which I run mu'd together. My son asked if I thought it was overkill and I said probably but it sure looks neater than heck! Think I need to have sound board installed in one of them! Maybe all 3!

Walter and RMT are top notch. When my Christmas S-4 Bang had issues just before Christmas Walter made sure that I had a replacement in hand for the holidays and the defective unit was shipped back. Walter has also taken the time to call me personally in the past. RMT is my supplier of choice as well!

lee willis... contact me at wmatuch@readymadetoys.com about your problem in detail so it can be taken care of. Your problem seems unique but it will be taken care of.

tiffany... If I remember correctly, I did reply to your request with an email some time ago. However, as I said then, the SANTA FE BEEP in blue/yellow was made about 8 years ago as a Toy Truck Collector item and RMT does not stock it.

I did suggest looking for 1 on ebay.

Sorry that I couldn't be of much help then, but your request was for something not even made by RMT.

PS: Just finished testing the new Train Engineer board. Works great and the new MP-15 will be first RMT diesel equipped with new RMT 'mother board' that will allow  a simple 'plug n' play' upgrade to TE. MP-15 will also have battery power capability as standard feature...another simple feature that will greatly expand operating possibilities.
