"HONGZ" stands for HO scale, N scale, G scale, and Z scale.

Post your non-O scale stuff here!

Here is the initial video of my HO Scale SEPTA consist, which I ran for the first time today in DC mode on my ceiling layout that's set up for the holidays.

It's powered by a Bachmann ACS-64 with full DCC/sound and the coaches are from Rapido Trains that have internal illumination controlled by a wand.  Love the wands as they eliminate the additional weight and wheel rolling resistance from drawing power from the track.

Merry Christmas', Kevin'... Beautiful operating consist'... I love those green LEDs.. very cool..

Thank you always Ted.

Kevin,

Very nice ceiling layout and impressive models. Is that Kato track?

Steve

Yes, it is Kato.  The most bulletproof track in N and HO scale, bar none.  It's been the only track I've ever used in the smaller gauges.

Very nice ceiling layout and a very nice train too! I have never seen HO on a ceiling layout like that. It really works well.

Thanks.  Originally I had two Atlas O loops up there, an O-63 and O-72.  Removed the inner loop so that I could run my HO trains up there to.  Kinds of lends a different perspective.  I've since removed the O-72 Atlas track and plan on replacing it with O-72 Tubular.  The noise level bouncing off the ceiling was the same, and no one is going to see the track when they're looking up, so no need to use scale looking track. I'm not as big into tubular track as I used to be, but it works best in certain situations (tunnels, subways) plus its more affordable.

I'm seeing a lot of that wand magic popping up in HO scale devices.

Yes, and perfect to.  Now I can install the same wand in other HO rolling stock and without having to do all the wiring.  Thinking of installing a lighting strip inside my O Scale Fishbowl buses too.

Video of my HO SEPTA set doing the morning commute from the South Farmington Station into the 30th Street Station in Center City, Philadelphia (technically on my club layout but the route is in my mind, which is what counts ).  Consist included a Bachmann ACS-64 and six amazing Comet Coaches from Rapido Trains.

After running some laps at moderate speed, the main line track was cleared of all rail traffic and I did some high speed runs of 110+ mph.
