Eric - this turntable is fantastic! Pricey but like you say well worth the money. Your demonstrations are always informative and you make everything look easy. Us visual learners really appreciate seeing it done on camera. Can't wait to see the wiring and programming video -
Thanx for all you do for the train community!
Regards,
Paul
Eric; now I see how you did toe damage. Flip flops!!!! really. I always wear work boots when I'm doing work on the layout. I've dropped to many things.
I'm too clumsy to wear boots on a layout. I'd crush everything. I only put the flops on for the video. I usually go barefoot because my bare feet can better feel when I'm stepping on something I shouldn't be stepping on. I'd rather hurt my feet from time to time than crush a switch motor housing or a signal or something. I didn't drop anything on my foot, I jammed it into the side of the layout table while climbing around.
Very interesting and informative.
Another prime example why most of us build a layout with heavy lumber and plywood, not 1x2's and door skins
Do you plan on running the indexing system with the Cab2 remote?
Great video Eric, Al's TT is bar none the best out there IMHO and I can't wait until I order mine.
Eric
Nice video. Can you maybe explain a little about what you needed to do if anything to position the TT height with the table top?
I stopped at Al's booth yesterday, and while I always knew I am going to buy his TT, the indexing he now has is simply amazing.
Fantastic video Eric.!!!!!!!!!!!!
Marty, there's various ways to bolt this TT to the layout table. When I installed mine I used nut's and bolts. What I did was use three nuts on one bolt, this made it very simple to adjust the TT to the layout table. First I installed a bolt from the top of the layout table, then I spun on a nut and locked the bolt to the table. I did this to each bolt going around the TT, then I spun on another nut halfway up on the bolt. Now I installed the TT and then spun on the last nut, now I was able to adjust the middle nut and the bottom nut up or down to get it exactly where I needed it. Finally I locked the nuts tightly together on the TT mounting flanges, and it was very secure.
Thanks,
Alex
