My ZW went kaput. I've installed a CW80 I had, to replace it. It only puts out 16 volts. Will this lower voltage in any way be detrimental to my ps2 locos? Tom

The voltage isn't a problem depending on how many you run at once. Just one or two?
I've heard of problems with MTH engines getting along with that particular transformer.
With the CW-80, you won't be running nearly as many consists as with the ZW. What went wrong with the ZW, they're pretty robust and easy to fix as a rule.
Joe, I found that out pretty quick. Tried to run four & blew my fuse.
John, Went to work on the ZW this morning. Found a broken wire on power cord. Would make or break contact when moved. One of those things I've encountered many times over the years being an electrician.
Thank you both for the info. Tom
New power cord time! Sounds like an easy fix.
The lower voltage from the CW-80 should not harm the PS-2 engines, providing you can get a PS-2 engine to work with the CW-80. The CW-80 is on MTH's do not us list. Also I could not get my PS-2 engine to work with a CW-80.
Most other transformers will work with an MTH engine.
