Visited the Apple Valley Model RR Club this week and ran a few locomotives that I have. A young member helped me with adding them to the club roster and another showed me how to download an app on my iPhone to operate them. That was amazingly easy and quick. Nothing to buy (uses the club's laptop) and the app was free. It was a lot of fun using the phone!

This handsome Berkshire is lettered for the mythical 'Maggie Valley Southern' that runs through these western NC Mountains. This was created by a local man who passed away a few years ago. His widow contacted me to help the family sell off his trains and layout. We sold most of it on 'the bay' but I elected to purchase some of the items thinking it would be nice to have this RR survive in this area. I have two boxes of MVS rolling stock and a BLI Mikado as well as a Alco RS27(?) all with DCC & sound. Had no idea how DCC functions but am learning..

Only disappointment was finding the box for a BLI N&W Class A and never locating the locomotive...

I'm a watchin' it... but I've been busy on the weekends with the wife and grand daughter or other commitments/activities. Every weekend in October has been/is filled!  This weekend it is the grand daughter again on Saturday, meet up with the daughter and "him" (son-in-law ) for supper at a German restaurant, then on Sunday its my company picnic... next weekend we're off to a vintage "enduro" motorcycle event... busy busy!  Model trains will return... I promise!
