Since it has been a non-model railroad weekend, I had to post ( well, brag) about my daughters (and yes, they have been my train buddies over the years) graduation yesterday from Bradley Univesity.
Here are the happy graduates posing with Lydia Moss Bradley, founder of Bradley University.
Kirsten(twin A) on the right, Bachelor of Science in Biology (minor in Chemistry and Art), College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. She graduated Magna Cum Laude, and with Tri Beta honors.
Leslie (twin B) on the left, Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (minor in Business Administration), Caterpillar College of Engineering and Technology.
Kirsten is going on to Graduate School to become a Pathology Assistant, at Rosiland Franklin University in North Chicago IL.
Leslie is starting her career with Excelon, our local power company, as an associate Electrical Engineer. She starts a six month rotation program in June, with final placement after that. She interned for two summers with them while at school.
Both ladies also trained service dogs while at Bradley University with Paws Giving Independence / Wags for Mags (campus affiliate). They did their diploma walk with their current trainees.
They grow up so fast. It seems like yesterday they were doing the following train / modeling activities with me.
Ballasting the roundhouse area on the Central Connecting Railroad. This was about nine years ago. The coffee cups were theirs, the beer was mine.
Trainfest 2006, with their friend Sara.
Taken about two years ago when they were painting the backdrops on my Spokane Southern railroad.
Life is complete when you see your daughters grow up to be far smarter, giving, and conscientious citizens than their old man.
Regards,
Jerry
