On the RR. Ray's was seen on Frank 53's RR, then part of Eliot Scher's Munoz Lines and now has a permanent home in Schenectady.
In 1977, the Friends of the GG1 and Amtrak repainted GG1 4935 into the PRR Brunswick Green and pin stripe scheme. The dark green locomotive enamel was almost black, and some have named the unit the "Black Jack GG1." I searched the internet and found a photo of it hauling Amfleet coaches here.
When I saw one (K-Line) on the forum for sale section, I jumped at the chance to get it. It arrived this week and is now in service, hauling Amfleet, of course. What a great locomotive! May be the smoothest operating GG1 I have. Thanks again, Nick!
The original is now preserved at the Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania in Strasburg.
Wow....great so far....I haven't done a thing all week....day 8 of an 8 day stretch at work....I did like this picture/dramatization from the Conrail website......I do miss Big Blue!

My first attempt at painting and lettering a brass car. Not to mention doing some light repairs. The load is a developmental nuclear fusion reactor chamber. In real life it is an oil mist eliminator with some bridal veil, styrene I beams and a few other odds and ends
Small building, (Carpenter's shack/supply)
Roxy and Bambi taking the train in order to get to work. Now that school is out for the semester they have to earn enough money for the fall quarter and get those degrees.
Nice Pictures everyone.
Here is my contribution for this weekend.
Great start this week everyone, love the Ray's Music Exchange.
Loving playing musical trains with my Grandson, I can never get tired of running Thomas!!
Still running the Williams Hudson I converted the smoke unit on....
And I spent a little time on scenery this past week.....
I still have to apply static grass and a few more details but otherwise this area is finished.

Week four of the Observation Car series. This time it is a beautiful Lionel Texas Special Lightweight.
The big news this week was the 611 took to the rails again!
I took off of work last Thursday & chased it w/ my daughter -
It did a round trip run from Spencer - Greensboro, NC. The weather was awful (figures!) but it was still awesome to see & hear her!
these are from Thomasville, NC -
I took my whole family to the NCTM a few days later so we could all see 611
and when we got home - guess what Lucia asked to run
I'll be chasing her tomorrow when she heads back to Roanoke In all the 611 fever, I broke down & ordered the MTH imperial 611 & passenger cars ( my first MTH engine in like 6 years). I thought it would be a nice memory to share with Lucia - she was so excited by the real one
John Sethian WOW!!!!! what a fantastic load. you keep setting the bar higher all the time!!!

Sorry ANDRE, I'll try and get a few pics of the entrance for you, but then again I might get my fingers broken or a pair of cement shoes?
In Gothenberg Sweden - Stopped by Hobbycenter, the last full line train shop in Western Sweden.
Owner said that business is booming. With the Euro and Swedish Kroner near alltime lows, prices were quite reasonable to an American.
No 3 rail O, but lots of new Lenz and Brawa European 2-rail O.
He also said the new Marklin starter sets that can be controlled by a tablet or smartphone are flying off the shelves. Kids and parents love them and they are bringing lots of young families into the hobby.
Wish someone would make the Nostalgi Tram (or any other Gothenberg Tram) in 3 rail O.
Excellent photos everyone!!
SIRT,
your gondola load looks like you cleaned up my driveway where my wife parks her '04 van!
Before anyone gets on my case, I would like getting her something better to drive. However, since the van originally belonged to her now deceased father, she will drive it until we can't afford to keep it on the road.
Over the years of collecting and running trains, I tended to favor brightly colored passenger and freight trains. Road names wasn't important, as long as the trains were colorful. While the TMB 2 club was operational, I ran the following F3 MTH special 25th Anniversary passenger set;
Daylight Express going by the local;
MotorMax American Graffiti 1955 Bel Air? 2 avail on you know where.
Here are a couple of pictures posted from the Valencia, Pennsylvania Historical Society. I grew up a half mile from where the photo was taken, my elderly parents still live there. The double track is the B&O Pittsburgh and Western Line On the west approach to Bakerstown Hill. The B&O station is on the right. The photographer is facing the summit, and Mars is to the photographer's back. My maternal grandfather was a fireman on this route before he was disabled in World War I In 1918. The other track is the Pittsburgh and Butler Short Line which ran until 1931. The Buffalo and Pittsburgh still operated on a single track former B&O mainline now.
Oh yes, Valencia is pronounced (Vuh-len-cha) not the Spanish way. ;-)
