At one time, the shoreline of Manhattan was lined with off-line facilities belonging to the region's various railroads. One such terminal was the Erie yard at 28th Street. Here we are treated to images of the facililty as modeled in HO by Mr. Vince Lee:

Great picture Bob.

These photos showcase some absolutely stunning modeling. Beautiful, balanced weathering, just the right amount of detail, and a ton of work for that switcher to look after. You got me curious if there was more info out there on this fantastic layout. The track plan is an absolute wonderfully compact switching layout.
Who says that you need a basement sized layout for fun. This layout is a gem.

Jerry
Hoooray! It's HONGZ WPF!!!
LOVE the Manhattan layout!! Excellent modeling and I agree with Jerry's comments 100%
As for yours truly, I'm still botchin' around in V scale. Quite a bit was accomplished with the time I devoted to it over the past week. Still trying to get four target segment of it up to "Phase 1" scenery status. ("Phase 1" = Basic scenery, saving custom structures/detail work/etc until later.) Here's a picture of Fayetteville, Arkansas circa 1889...
Have a great Labor Day weekend everybody!
All fer now!!!

Mpeck61,
no pictures came thru on my iPad.
I agree with Jerry, a absolutely stunning switching layout.
Every weekend is model railroading weekend!
Some railfan shots from the past. In the first photo, Extra GN 2023 East moves stock at the head end towards Sinclair's Premium Packing at Worley ID. The train will set out the stock cars there, and will continue on towards interchange with the D&RGW at Craig Colorado. Shot at COD viaduct, on the Spokane Southern in 1952.
Meanwhile, this 1957 shot is a Northern Illinois SW1200 sitting outside of the NI car shop after dropping two box cars at the shingle plant.
The Northern Illinois is my friend Al's railroad. We have been swapping horsepower hours for quite some time now on our respective railroads.
Tomorrow, I will spend the day running my railroad in solitude as I re=stage it for an operating session on 16-Sep-16.
Regards,
Jerry
