Those are works of art, Brian!! They look great! I have something else, too. Big Run Culvert on the Western Maryland Blackwater Canyon. I intend to build this on my layout. Do I attempt something like it here on the diorama for practice? Hmmm...

I say go for it Mark!
I'm taking notes! Brian has hit the jackpot on drainage systems! LOL
Jim : )
Yup! Leave it to Brian to come up with the photographs!!!

Just a little work today. Had to see what the new Lionel catalog had. Plus had to keep up with the voting for Mark's culverts. This afternoon I did a bit more painting of the oil storage kit. Did the roofs and glued two pipes to the tanks at the bottom. I don't know when I bought this kit but it was some time back. The directions show holes to glue the pipes into the tanks but there are none. I still have to glue the tanks to the stands and then glue the pipes to the tanks. Have Tuesday night get together tonight so I'm done for the day. Pics.....Paul

RandR, the table looks quite sturdy!
Paul, isn’t it nice the instructions don’t exactly match the product? You will make it look great! Thank you for voting! LOL
Wife finished skirting for my 5x10' layout. Looks great and finished the layout nicely.
RANDR, Ohhhhh! Now I see what it is. Your wife did a first rate job!!! I have trouble seeing details during the day when I am not at the computer and am looking at photographs here with an iPhone!
A tote tote no doubt! : )
Jim
Tonight I ran trains to make sure all the track was correct and the trains ran fine! Was reading some posts about layouts and a statement by a guy about not liking lift gates or swing gates gave me a pretty good idea! I'm going to raise the two mainlines I am running on now. Then build another loop or three where it is now with smaller radius turns and do loop to loop track plan. I can duck under the 38.5 height duck under now. The upper mains will cross over at 49 inched if I raise it 7. I used to do metal fab so I have the equipment and skill to build a steel bridge similar to the one Eric's Trains has. So take away the 2x4 and plywood, and add 7 or so inches.. I can add 11 inches to the height I have to duck under.. : ) What do yall think?
Jim
Randr- sure is a nice looking table and your wife did a wonderful job on the tote stacker! Are you sure she didn't do the table also! LOL
Paul, your tanks are looking great, maybe next time you could just drill the holes for the pipe!
Jim, I like your idea but just remember were all getting older and duck unders can become a PITA!

Jim,
I'm sure you will do a first rate job on the bridge! I'm with Mike on the comment about shying away from duckunders. However I am 61, and my flexibility isn't what it used to be. Maybe you are much younger and won't have an issue with the duckunder for years.

Mike, Mark, I agree 100% on the duck under. The only reason I'm considering it is that I'm short lol Just under 5'8''. So its not that hard for me to get under 49 or so inches. Still all in the maybe stage. Did make a template last night. Bridge will be in an S turn. It would look cool but which would be the bigger PITA. A lift/swing gate that has to be moved all the time, and my silly self could maybe forget to close. Or ducking under...
Jim
Edit. Note that Ive "ducked under" around 38.5 inches about 100 times over the last week! Lots of good exercise lol

Sounds good, Jim!! As long as you have thought it all through and tested ducking under, which you have! I'ld like to see the bridge you build anyway!!!

LOL its all your choice Jim, but I am 5'9" and 54 and it huts sometime to duck under let alone get back up off the floor! But my fingers are still good enough to throw the switch to raise and lower my bridge! Plus with safety switches in place if the bridge is up the trains stop 5 feet before the bridge!

YES something else I was considering if I use a lift/swing gate. MUST have a safety switch of some sort!

Jim, you can just isolate the track going to the bridge, Power the bridge and when the bridge is up it cuts the power and when the bridge is down it makes the connection!
A lot of guys here can explain it better them I can!
BrianSilverMustang,
Brian I like the idea of the shelving for the Engines and Rolling stock, might have to look into doing something similar!
Thanks for the great idea for our new Train Room!

Brian;
I have always been impressed by your daily engine photos, but this goes too far. I have to ask - is there ANY engine you don't have???
Someone better check the Toy Train Museum to see if their collection has been filched

Lionel 345 culvert unloader.
Picked this up on trainz auction, last week. Surprised I was the only bidder at 61 bucks plus fees and shipping, only 91 bucks. Got it for a backup to my present '345'. Not in mint but I'm not a 'mint' guy but an operator: clean, a few scratched and no rust. Also, came with car and load.

Nice Sam!
Cut lumber for leg braces for the second level of my layout. I can see plywood coming soon.
