Johan, the ones I just posted I got from the New Jersey High Railers in New Jersey. They have been offering a beer reefer series that I have been buying.  Also I belong to a few train clubs which from time to time offer nice club cars. Plus sometimes I find something nice at the Eastern division York train show plus I surf the net and the B. I'll finish by saying that a few of the cars I got were because you posted yours and I was able to find some of them....................Paul 2

Paul. Sounds a very nice. Here in Finland everything i cant nothing if like a found an 0-scale stuff. Internet or 3D printer is a only way.

The Brown's don't currently have a losing record!  I don't think that I'll have any time for my layout today, but I do have some ideas brewing and some track cleaning to be done.  Hopefully my train time today will be chasing NKP 765 on it way to the Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad!

Johan,  great photo backdrop,  looks a lot like a view from Cadillac Mtn. in Acadia NP in Maine ?  

Also,  I meant to add:   The weathering on the Maine Central E Unit is spectacular, not too light, not too heavy just really well done... Outstanding 

Mike,  Glad to hear you're feeling some relief.  

I decided last night to get out the acrylics and do some dry brushing on the Grain Elevator.... Took some trial and error experimenting with different colors, but I am pleased with the result and it kept me from wasting time.....   The 1st photo is from yesterday before the dry brushing....  The photographs tend to increase the contrast between the different color clapboards, it's a little more subtle to my eye on the layout, but definitely and improvement....

The new digital level is the coolest thing since sliced bread...  Best $28 bucks I have spent in a long time...  It clearly is finding low and high spots between the outer rails that I couldn't detect....  Photo below....  This one even comes with a small padded case so the display screen doesn't get scratched when not in use.....   

Lionel Man UK, I am pretty sure Mike Reagan is working at Trainworx, he left Lionel about 2 years ago....  could be longer as the older I get, the faster time passes...

Hi guys thanks for your updates from this side of the pond I am so envious of the layouts, when I built my summer house it was to have my trains in, but she who must be obeyed decided otherwise. So now I have a couple of tracks on IKEA floating shelving. I mustn't grumble.(or else) lol.

Chris, Wonderful job on the roof! Looks really nice. I wish I would have had that little level when I was laying track, but my 8" digital level worked ok. Thanks for the advice about ice and Ibuprofen, feeling much better this morning!

Well I went out and switched my power from my Z4000 to my TIU to var1 & Var2, then switched the out put to the track to Var1 & Var2 so I could try and run my DCS and conventional engines on the same track with my remote. all that happened was the conventional engine lights came on and the horn blew the whole time. I could turn the horn off unless I reduced the power with the remote. Then when I looked at the Z4000 it has AC in the amp window. I looked in the manual and it doesn't say anything about AC. So now I am at a loss of what to do next! 

I am sure in time I will figure it out with the help of the great folks here!

Finally found time over the weekend to set up the culvert loader and unloader by making some room on the layout and re-arranging some trackage. A little light weathering and we should be good to go - I have a feeling the grandkids will enjoy this.

For me, the layout hasn't been touched in a little while.

My wife and I went to see her parents in Phoenix all last week (I even managed to hit all the hobby shops there that I could). After we got back, my wife has had a series of 'end of summer' chores that included adding a storm door I still feel we didn't need at all (the wind and rain comes from the opposite side and the front door is well recessed from the overhead and it never ever get wet from rain there). But, her household-related wants get translated to 'need' and I have given up getting her to understand the difference between the two (I have no individual needs, according to her, so I can't use the same logic. Go figure).

This project was made more maddening by the fact that it came with no instructions at all! We looked up the info on the company website and it had no info on how to install the pistons that keep the door from flying open and closing on it's own. Thank goodness for YouTube, as I'd never even seen anyone installing one of these before.

Yeah, it's a purple door. Note the color of the house, it's a very light shade of lavender. My wife has a thing for purple. No sane (or straight) man would paint their house this color!

I still need to get my ET&WNC hoppers built, as I have all the parts, paint and decals at the house, just need to get a day where I have time for that. My dachshund-poodle mix pup Sweet Pea (who just turned one year old last month) doesn't deal well with me doing model train stuff at the dining room table, though, so generally she needs to want to sleep before I can anything done or my wife needs to be home...

Chris. Thank you. I cant remember if that picture has taken from Cadillac Mtn in Maine, but can be. I know that is a from Maine. It's just looking a nice and goes nicely together with a that module scene.

Every other Turn on the Plywood Empire Route I become Scrapyard owner Kovalchic and fire up the 282 Magnetic Gantry Crane and load a Mill Gon with scrap steel. It's part of Operating!

Well it was too nice a day to stay inside... Decided to go out in the garage and cut up all my 1/2 inch plywood for the sub road bed for the last 270 degrees of double main turns...   Got about 50% of the wood cut, sanded and the first 90 + degrees glued.   I wish I had figured this system out sooner for long curved roadbed that's on a grade over an open L girder bench work.

Recently I decided to laminate (2)  x  1/2 inch thick plywood sections together making 1 inch thick sub road bed...  that way I can cut the curve sections in 30 to 45 degree increments and stagger the joints, when the Titebond Glue dries I end up with a really strong, stable curve.  I haven't counted but it's probably 10 to 11 plies with both sheets glued together and since the main lines at this point are on a 1.5 % grade, I really don't want too many butt joints that lead to high or low spots.  

Plus there's other benefits,  I can't really pick up 3/4 inch plywood sheets anymore !!  I have very little waste when I am done, and I can usually find a bunch of otherwise scrap pieces around 2 x 3 or 2 x 4 feet and make good use of them.  

It's hard to see what's going on in the photos, too many weights and clamps in the way.

Scrapyard owner Kovalchic!  How fitting, Lew!  The scrapman who bought the EBT and then ran a tourist railroad for 60 years!  Make sure Kovalchic doesn't scrap that fine FasTrak!!

Thats the good thing, the bad thing is showed me some bad areas of track I am going to have to fix. Then I went to work and its so slow here I was able to read DCS operators Manual cover to cover! Learned alot!

Looking good guys lots of progress. Not much going on the layout or bench I had a bad car accident Friday evening coming home from work. I was involved in a 4 car pile up in St.Louis. My car was totaled but Thank God he had his hand on me, I had some bumps and cuts and bruises but i'm going to be OK I went back to work today. Maybe I can get back to the layout this week. 

WOW Lee, I liked your post to say I a glad your OK! Sounds like a scary ride! Its nice the guy up stairs was watching over you! Take your time and when you feel good enough then you play with your trains!

I'm glad that you are OK too, Lee.

While you are recuperating you can catch up on planning, train/hobby mags, OGE Forum posts, etc.  It will pass the time (better than TV, that is for sure) and help with the after accident jitters. 

Lee, I'm glad to hear you are OK. As I know you are aware (being a Driver) the most dangerous thing we do in our everyday lives is driving. Sounds like you were in heavy traffic, the most dangerous kind of driving. Again, glad you got out with bumps, bruises and scrapes.

Lee,  I am so glad you weren't seriously injured Friday night.  Always great to have help from above as you noted.   

Just one thought:  Make sure you don't get in any hurry signing off on the "medical release".  Not encouraging any dishonest effort, just saying it takes time for some injuries to manifest themselves.   I was hit from behind on an entrance ramp 7 years ago, it took over a year for neck and upper middle back disk issues to really get bad enough to get an MRI approved. It was a relatively low speed accident, but my minivan was totalled, and I think what made it so bad was that I was leaning forward, with my head turned looking back at the oncoming traffic to ensure I could merge into the right lane...  The person behind obviously thought I took off, and hit the gas peddle to enter the merging traffic....  Problem was I had never moved.

I hope you are OKAY, Yes God likes train modeller's as he has ever my bacon a few times when I was scuba diving.

I really love the layouts on here, I have been quite busy on my simple layout, added a diner where my station once was. I gave up trying to get a cable through a hole where existing cables were.

So time to catch up on my nap.happy modelling and take great care out there.

A friend and I drove to Guadalajara yesterday, and after he had seven or eight close calls, I joined the ranks of people who refuse to travel in a car that has him as the driver. I didn't find anything I could use on my lay-out.

But I did spend a relaxing two hours assembling the fourth bag of parts for my Lego Disney train station.

You haven't got any spares for a Barbie house have you???? Lol

Lionel Man, I love the advertising pic of the BSA A10. My Brother had a '67 Hornet. I could probably still tear down a Triumph 650 (my favorite of the British Twins) engine blindfolded.

Glad you like my plaque's in my youth, I only ever road BSA My last one before getting married 51 years ago. Was a 500cc BSA gold star full clubman trim. Now it's Japanese rice burners, well until 3 years ago. Had to hang up my leathers.

Anyway onto trains. Trying to wire a diner to come on when the locomotive passes by I am using an optical sensor from MTH. It works but the sensitivity takes some adjustment.

Mike - hope you're making good progress on yours. Wish I had info for you on the side receiver hook-up issue.

The container forklift is a Menard's 1:50 scale diecast item. I also have their regular forklift which you can just make out in the attached pic. it.

Thank you all for you concerns. This is second day back to work still sore but when you have  severe arthritis it's hard to tell which pain is which. 

 I took apart the All Nations car Sunday hopefully I can get some work done on it soon. 

Lee, Roomie has the same situation with pain masking pain. Dr wants to know "on a scale of one to ten...." and she says "well, today I don't feel the repaired ruptured tendon in my ankle because the pain from the plantar fascia is worse". It's all good though because she is up and walking and I'm sure you and yours are feeling the same way .

Lee, I am glad your doing ok, I understand the pain thing! When I had my neck disection they nicked a nerve and now my right side of my neck and shoulder hurt all the time. I call it the new norm! LOL

Well this morning I got a chance to work on the problem switch I had, I pulled out the bailing wire I had going up to the switch and put in a small section of guitar string with a little flex! Sofar it works perfect, but I do need more time to run trains to be sure!

already back in the road after such a collision and injury.  I would be so Leary to be on that road again.
