Keep these great scenes coming!!!!   Johan, does your layout represent the O-scale 3-rail/Hi-rail club you referenced in your reply to me a few pages back?   If not, could you tell us a little about club involvement in your area?   What is the size (foot print) of your S.B.R. layout?   I'm looking forward to get a hold of the June 2019 issue CTT and read more about your layout.  Thanks for posting!!!

Cheers, Dave

Dave. You're welcome. When you found a that June 2019 CTT, you get all answers. The layout size is a 8.5 x 15.5 feet. 🍺

Johan

Johan, A friend who is a CTT subscriber told me that they do not publish a June issue.   Is your railroad being featured in a special publication of CTT?   If so, would you or someone please post more details on where we can find the article on the S.B.R. layout.  Thanks!

Cheers, Dave

Dave. It was a July 2019 CTT. I send a soon email for you.

Last night I removed my  Lionel 164 Log Loader from the Warrenville Yards, to make room for a Forklift loader that I will move from Cape Warrenaveral, to update that area and make room for the addition of a IRBM Missile Launcher.

Plans changed slightly.

I moved CatellaVille Station to where the 164 Log loader was (before and after pics below) and moved the ForkLift Loader and a lumber loading platform from Cape Warrenaveral to where the CatellaVille station was (pic below).

This moved the station closer to a more residential area and consolidated several log and lumber accessories in a logical fashion in the Warrenville Yards. I also removed a couple towers to open things up a little.

The rebuild of Cape Warrenaveral will begin after York.

Hi Guys

finally got my track laid with modifications, extended the inner rail to 072 and managed to extend the outer rail 036 (all fasttrack) added a set of points, Sorry you say switches, to divide the outer section for junk or fruit collection/delivery. will add some before and after photos later, too much time at hospital appointments etc. thats why it has taken so long.

Happy modelling

Mark, thank you. I feel the same way, but its the hoops you have to jump threw so they can get there money! Great looking WM 0-8-0 Fireball!

Lee D. Great pictures! Do you plan on changing your engines out to Kadee's ? I tried the caboose behind my ES44 and it wouldn't go around my 072 curvers!

Lew , You can always use small rubber bands to keep them together. If you go Kadee I would just mount them to the cars!

Vincent, Thank you! Now that's funny!

Brian, I have a couple idler cars till I get everything hanged over to Kadee!

Bill, You might want to wait till you see how she reacts to the last purches!

John R. Sorry about your health issues. I hope it gets better soon! I sure hope it asnt the smoke pellets!

Brian, Wonderful engines! Was that one inside one of the new boxes Izzy was trying to open?

Bob, Great looking engines!

John, Nice change!

Sorry guys nothing from me, I am here stuck at the store, but loe everything your all doing! It been a long day for me so I am going to keep it short. So I hope everyone has a great Thursday and have fun with your layout and trains!

Up at 5 AM for a morning train run.

The non-derailing feature of an O22 switch at reverse loop was not working, so I replaced it with a spare switch.

Problem solved.

Will open up faulty switch at later time to try and fix it. Probably need to solder a loose connection re non-derailing feature.

O22s are usually easy to repair in my experience. Arnold

Lee- The # 23 Geep was purchased from Mark.

Resistance is futile- the fireball is calling you .

Mark- I saw your post the other day. Lucky for me (bad for you) that engine won't handle 027 curves

Still no train time for me. Love everyone's posts and progress. If this nice Fall weather ever gives up maybe I could spend some time in the basement.

Bob

Jim- looks like you and your son had a great time. Strasburg runs a great operation. One of our favorite (OK mostly mine) vacation stops. Throw in the RR Museum of PA and the Choo-Choo Barn too.

I have to find pictures of my son and I with Thomas from years ago and I will post them. The engine was in the shop in back for maintenance and we happened to stumble across it being fired. We stopped for a few photos and the guys working in him were great.

hello, really no train time for me this week yet,

didn't get home from work till 10:30 last night...

tired, and still haven't got to open any boxes yet...

                  but IZZY keeps checking...

while a couple more showed up yesterday...

alright,  just wake me up when we can open these up..

I'm getting tired of waiting to fill up the shelves...

better yet,  I'll be in my chair looking at the trains...  good night

I’ll get the link tonight.

Thanks guys for your Likes and complements.

Mike G.  I’ll probably keep the engines with the claws.

Bob. Thanks think I might focus on that Bachman’s/ Williams F3 Shell

Jim. Looks like you had fun spend as much time with them I blinked and now my oldest daughter started College this year.

Brian. If you don’t open those boxes Izzy will

Thanks Lee and Mike for the kind words.  I am now able to do an hour or so of work before I rest again. I have been boxing cars off the layout and clearing the table to do some major remodeling to open up more access points to the layout.  If I can do two hours a day, that will be good progress.  Hopefully two plus two with a rest in between.

Here is a video of the far side of the layout that I shot but never posted.

Sincerely, John Rowlen

Lou, Nice job on the tank, all three should look great on your layout!

Jim, sure looks like a great time & what wonderful memories you made with your son!

Brian, Poor Izzy! You know if you don't get in gear sooner or later she just might decide to open them without you! LOL

Lee D, I might do the same with any new engine I might ever get. But the rest of the rolling stock will be switched over to Kadee's! It might take the rest of my life, but that is the plan!

John R, I am glad to hear your getting a couple of hours on the layout. I cant wait to see your new design for your layout. Wonderful video, man those are some long box cars!

Well I hope everyone is having a great day! I am heading out to do my shift at the store, I should be home by this time tomorrow to get some train room time! Remember whatever you do try and have fun with your layout and trains!

After a 6 month hiatus, I have resumed work on turning UP vista dome "Plainfield," LIONEL 6-15372, into Northern Pacific North Coast Limited vista dome pool coach, #559, owned by the SP&S Ry.

Christine Braden recently returned a LIONEL vista dome from the UP "Plainfield" that she'd painted in the Loewy dark green for this car.

I also resumed work on former TCA aluminum cars which I am repainting/decorating to Great Northern Empire Builder.

Ordered more masking tape, primer, etc. (I am a terrible filler/sander),

Hope to post photos of the completed 559 soon.

Lee, Here is the link for the Western Maryland Fireball diesel.  It is a Baldwin AS616; not a very common engine, but one I like.  The Baldwin sound really reminds me of the ALCo growling sound.

While I await my re-supply of masking tape, wet/dry sandpaper, and model putty/filler, I found a tube of filler and applied it to several aluminum cars whose extruded seams needed to be filled to achieve a more prototypical side to the passenger cars.  I am admittedly terrible at this--a competent person could achieve the same passable results in 1/5 the time it takes me.

Johan,  !Great looking job on the engine! It will really be a nice addition to your RR and your layout!

Carl, That is going to be one good lucking car when your done! I sure hope you post pictures of the finished product!

Brian, Cool N&W photos! I sure hope you didn't hurt Izzy! Anything else can be fixed! LOL

Well today I didn't do anything in the train room. The CEO decided she would like to have pine toung and grove Pine installed around her new French doors, so that was my job today, get everything ready! Tomorrow I will start the install and hope it will go quick! I have many ideas for what to do in the train room, but at the rate the CEO is going who knows when I will get my chance again!

I hope everyone has a great weekend and please try and make some time to have fun with your layout and trains!
