I just read an article about pet care, that described things to protect your pet at holiday times. Most had to do with eating. I was surprised that one said that dogs can get sick from ice cream. What’s up with that????? Right away I though of Izzy! Annie likes to lick my bowl after eating ice cream.

Well I have a little more work to get everything ready for the Furnace install, but I think I will be able to get a little time in the train room today. I got some time yesterday but only did a little cleaning! I know Lew, no pictures it didn't happen. Well if I took a before and after pictures you would still see a mess so I didn't see any reason to take pictures!

So after I took the flats downstairs and put a coat of clear coat on them I went back up to the kitchen and brought down the module. It is now on saw horses and the legs attached. After lunch I am going to make up some blocks of wood for the other side of the legs to secure them better. Once that is done it is on to making the liftoff scene. I already texted Bryan with a pic with my progress to make him start sweating LOL

Paul, looking good on the module. The reason I asked about the size, I started to build a module to take outside for photographs. I made it 24x48 like I had done 30 years ago when we moved often. Into the project I realized it was too unwieldy to handle with arthritis. I dismantled it for parts. LOL
I tell folks I'm 39, just like Jack Benny.
Then I gotta explain who Jack Benny was...
On the train front, I'm noodling about with the idea of mounting the K-line switcher trucks to a trimmed down PW Alco B unit chassis, wedding a couple of shortened slopeback tenders to the cab and making a shorter wheelbase steeplecab for Razorback Traction...

Finished up some details last night on the float with a few of the scouts. I ran the air line "red hose under the train" for the whistle, installed the rest of the hand rails, and put on the builders plate.
We might paint the running boards white, haven't decided yet. I still need to get the fog machine running for the smoke, as the one we borrowed was clogged up.
We have a group coming over friday evening to finish everything up.

I think white would look good, but can I suggest red and green running boards for the season and to brighten it up?

I finally graduated to be able to walk with the cane and go to the basement. I ran a train on the Ceiling Central RR for a few minutes. Here is a photograph from the rocking chair, just for Lew!

The #35 looks great! The cars are Railking 60’ streamlined representing the cars on the Western Maryland Scenic Railroad. Three years of fundraisers (2 cars a year) for the Community Model RR Club in Frostburg Maryland.

I have been working on the last corner section of my layout - Scrap yard & industrial area. Added lights to several of the building flats and I am in the process of completing the loading dock for the scrap yard and bakery company flats. Also filled in the area under an adjacent window ledge with a stone wall. The stone wall texture was printed off the internet from BIG Indoors Trains web site:

BIT's web site is a wonderful resource and allows you to print in several scales. The also post great tutorials for related projects. The price is right up my alley - free! Your cost: printer ink, paper, foam board or card stock, etc.
Most of the flats used in this area were purchased from Trackside Flats. They offered a good selection of industrial buildings. I have added LED lighting to several. Where I plan to use ground cover or ballast in contact with the base of a printed structure, I spray that area of the building or wall texture with clear matte finish to protect from print bleed that might result from the glue mixture and wet water spray. This is a lesson I unfortunately learned earlier.
Great find today at Hobby Lobby: 9 scale sized pickle barrels or in my case, maybe flour barrels. $1.29 after a 40% off coupon and tax!
I have a flickering amber diode so I bought a 3/8 light socket at Menards and harvested the metal socket thinking it might become a metal trash barrel and site of a warming trash barrel fire. Time will tell!
Good to see that everyone is busy with trains. Must be that time of the year!

Mark, EGGCELLENT progress! Personal mobility is so easy to take for granted until you don't have it. So far in 2019 Roomie has had her foot in a boot (a walking cast thingy that she takes off at night) for all but three months. Presently she can walk....a bit....to get from the house to the car. Tomorrow she sees the Doc and hopefully can walk again finally without the boot. Progress!
Thank you, Lew! I hope Roomie finally gets rid of the boot! I’ve been used to carrying the load for 6 or 8 years since my wife has had trouble getting around. Now she has two replaced knees, but still struggles with stairs. It has been different being the one hobbling around more.
Mark, we changed houses in part because the house in the South Hills had the bedrooms and only bathroom on the second floor and the arthritis in my hips wasn't happy with the old-guy-prostate vis-a-vis that bathroom location. When the Doc diagnosed moderate arthritis in my hips I asked her what I could do to put off future hip-replacement and she said: "Don't go up stairs and don't walk up steep hills". Now the only thing on the second floor is the toys 
Wow.. This getting old crap is not for the faint of heart, but certainly beats the alternative... You guys hang in there!!!
Lew, I understand completely what you are saying. We will look for a home with no stairs once my mother-in-law across the road can’t live there or passes on. In the meantime we can make do.
Woodson, I know what you are saying. The surgeon said he gave us 30-year knees since we are fairly young. Our knees will outlive us! LOL

Started to make the signs to finish this bashed mill store. Lot of interruptions have made this a slow build.
I bought myself a Birthday present. It's 12 years older than my Father! No matter what, it will be run on my railroad. I located a NOS headlight before I bought it. Anything I need to know about running a 1927 Lionel set? I bought my bride an old coin-op foosball table and she bought me a gas pump like I used on my first job. Gas prices were 35.9 cents per gallon, full service. E-nuf already. How you like this?
I get three cherry Birthday pies today too.

Bill, the prewar train set looks great! But the cherry pie looks wonderful! For my birthday two weeks ago, Our younger daughter made me a cherry pie from scratch using her mother-in-law’s recipe. That was all the gift I wanted!!
