Joe,

Several FOM cars made it into the mid to late 40s. It might have been possible, especially in 1946/47, that you would see an E7, PA, or Centipede pulling a consist of mostly FOM cars.

In a way, you are correct, but if they pulled FOM painted cars, it was for a very short time. Diesel power got off to a shakey start on the PRR when two E7s were made for the PRR in 1945 for use on "The South Wind" (a FOM route). They were side-tracked in Harrisburg, in part due to the fact that fueling locations were not yet in place along the line. They finally saw service in 1947, but the passenger cars were repainted, and given a blunt-tail observation car, in 1948. But like we often say, "It's YOUR railroad...run what you want".

Alan has one of the largest passenger car fleets in O-Gauge. I often refer to him as one of the top experts for K-Line passenger cars.

My guess is Alan has more Lightweight passenger cars than Heavyweights. This guess is from my personal visit to this wonderful layout and from the photos Alan posts here. Am I correct, Alan?

All my passenger sets are lightweight. Here is my short list:

K-Line 15" Cal Zephyr pulled by either Lionel Burlington F-3 A-B-A or WP F-3 AB

K-Line 15" Empire State Express pulled by Railking E-8 A-A

K-Line 15" NP "North Coast Limited" pulled by Premier F-7 A-B-A

K-Line 15" GN "Empire Builder" pulled by Premier F-3 A-B-A

MTH 18" Amtrak Superliners pulled by choice of 3 Premier Genesis

My layout is only 5 X 13 so that explains my mostly 15" collection.
