Recently I purchased Lionel's Milwaukee Road Auto Carrier (cat No 6-52369).

I am wondering if any of the cars in either of these two sets (6-37820 - Lionel Auto Loader Cars 4-Pack or 6-81738 - Lionel Auto Loader Cars 4-Pack) might fit inside this freight car.

I am unable to find anything that says how wide these cars are (everything says how long they are!). The inside width (door opening) of this car is 1-5/8 inches.

The cars - I think - were made to fit on the Monopoly Auto Loader (6-26675) and the "Evans" auto loaders.6-52369

There was an article, I believe in OGR, where someone made an operating accessory with these cars using HO slot cars. It was a long time ago and was really neat. I believe they were just the right size for them. I love today's scale cars, but I still have about thirty of these and the non scale TOFC's. They look great with Lionmaster diesels!

Paul be careful using die-cast, even Matchbox size.  They may make the railcar top heavy and unstable.  I have a three teir open side auto-carrier that I wanted to load.  I found a Hot Wheels series that were the approximate scale, twoe different VW Karmen Ghia  models fit inside and Beetles and a Microbus fit on the top tier.  It looked great, had alot of heft but it was all to far above the rail making for a very wobbly ride.  Also keeping the cars in place when storing was nearly impossible.
