SCALE RAIL, it's the Crown Edition #5505.  From what I've seen on the forum it should have a QSI sound system, what version I have no idea.  I can open up the tender easy enough to see if there is anything written on the sound board.  Opening up the loco to look at the motor control board is another matter.  I see two screws under the cab that look to hold the shell on but any other screws I need to investigate more thoroughly.  Smoke on/off is labeled and under the loco.  Another switch without label is under the tender and I think this is for electronic reverse lockout, and if so would motor control also be in the tender?  This is the first engine I've really ever opened so a newbie at this.

My options look bleak for upgrading this as I was considering the ERR.  By the time I actually get some track time with this and a new layout done maybe there'll be some resolution on upgrades options similar to what ERR provided.

I have one, but the locomotive is buried at the moment.  As I recall, the manual is not very comprehensive.  I had to rewire mine when I purchased it off eBay in 2007 and the manual only shows how to take the shell off the chassis.  The smoke units are Seuth smoke units.  Just basically a small can with a wire in the center that heats the smoke fluid.  Just put fluid in and let it run for a bit.  They work well for the era, but don't expect them to perform like today's units.  All the Williams brass engines had this system.
