Great idea!! It looks sharp!
@FJI posted:A set of 21 inch PRR congressional passenger cars including the specialty cars with correct interiors
I asked Ryan Kunkle for this set about 2 years ago and his reply was "That would be very cool to make!" So I'm optimistic we will see it eventually. Probably when they are ready to produce GG1s again.
The 1950's era design of the 50' double-door boxcar that is modernized post-1966 and has one or two plug doors on each side to represent boxcars from railroad such as the Akron, Canton & Youngstown, Norfolk & Western, RF&P, DR&GW, British Columbia Railway, and Canadian National.
The new National Steel Car covered hoppers built for the Canadian National and the Canadian Pacific are a distinct design that has to be made in 1:48th Scale, 1:64th scale, and in Traditional O gauge proportions.

Legacy reissue of the 2010 Vision Hudson, same tooling.
With some different road names and non-spoked drivers available (like the 1997 Santa Fe #3447).
Dave
I would like to see some reissues as well, Lionel can differentiate the locomotives with new road names and numbers.
I would love to see Legacy RS3's with smoke, not sure if the K-Line tooling would have the internal room, but it would be a definite must buy for me in a bunch of roads.
How about some Amtrak stuff for their 50th Anniversary!
I'd like to see reissued amfleets & Cab cars. It would be better if Lionel produced them in phase III since they only made phase IVb amfleets, circa 2010 (the last time they were sold). I don’t know if this would be possible, but a model of #1001 (Beech Grove) would be a welcomed addition. If Lionel keeps the 0-36 minimum, that allows people with smaller layouts to order these cars too!
It would also be nice for a re-issue of the legacy F40PH.
Final thought: a legacy version of the HHP-8?
Please let me know your thoughts on these product ideas.

The people at LIONEL would have to make a scale version of the RS3 using the former Weaver Models RS3.

How about a ma and pa nw2 in lc+2.0?
My big wish is that Lionel stop changing the paint schemes on locomotives between catalog photos and production. This goes especially for high end BTO items that people have to preorder.

something went wrong somewhere. At some point someone made the decision to paint the smoke box a different color. Why does this happen? I wish it would stop! It is just not right to do this to your customers who pay a premium up front, and deserve to get what they paid for.

Amtrak phase 1 E8s.

They did.
Yeah, but try to find any now.

If they run e8s again. Find a dealer to do a custom run . I talked Mr muffins into doing those. Maybe you can't get him to do them again next time e8s show up in catalog. Or maybe Lionel will offer them.
I was very disappointed I missed the MrMuffins run. Thought I might have more than a month to buy a set but no extras were available. The first train I ever got as a kid was the Lionel Lake Shore Limited so I would like a Legacy version of the Amtrak phase 1 paint scheme sometime in the future. I would be happy with fantasy F3s too like the old Lionel ones. It looks like the O scale business truly is built to order now or you miss out.
highly-detailed O scale Grand Trunk Western extended-vision caboose
Grand Trunk Western blue Theater Car
Andrew
See, I want a GTW caboose, but one that feels more steam era appropriate. Although with how everyone complains about Lionel's trucks lately, I don't know if I would want one of theirs.
i forgot to add these in my original post but how about a lionchief reissue of the maritime exploration titanic set as well as a redo of the operation eagle justice set. perhaps lionel could give that cancelled new haven ft trailer van lionchief set another try as i think what killed it was lack of orders caused by an incorrect name for the set. It was labeled as an alco set when the art showed an EMD FT diesel. what a pitty because that set was beautiful and would have looked great hauling freight as main for the Allegheny City local train AC077.
An O scale wood caboose with the 1930's and 1940's era paint scheme of the Grand Trunk Western for the GTW steam locomotives that have been released in the past 10 years would be good.
An O scale wood caboose with the 1950's era paint scheme of the Grand Trunk Western to run behind trains with GTW early diesel locomotives has not been done yet.

If they could get the ft 2.0s down to 500 (what I think the first run of 1.0s were priced at), I’d be very interested in a b&o.
@tom21pa posted:Sound in all powered units. No more just in 1 A of an AA set, there both powered now anyhow.
MTH finally saw the light, sadly maybe too late, and got rid of the slave A unit with it's horrid cable connection. Yes, now that Lionel finally powers both units, they need sound in all powered units like Atlas and Sunset do.

A kit to convert Lionchief and Lionchief+ engines to Lionchief+ 2.0
Believe I posted this request once before, but cant remember when... But
I would like to see 21" UP Generator car to round out the George Bush Funeral train. It's the only one I'm lacking.
I'll make my usual plug for Lionel to let us have some fun with foreign trains like a Gresley A4 or the Orient Express. The Flying Scotsman actually ran on American rails for at least a year or two - maybe start there?
I also think it would be really cool for Lionel to make double use of its S-gauge and HO-track and its O-scale lineup to make narrow gauge engines. Maybe Durango & Silverton or Cumbres & Toltec to start? Lionel could do a gorgeous Legacy version of some of those old steamers and run them on its own track, to O-scale proportions.
As far as features, I think the effects - like cylinder steam and whistle steam and swinging bells - are amazing and one of the reasons I love O gauge. Just as whistle steam has gradually spread across the whole Legacy line, I hope cylinder steam and other special effects will find their way outside the Vision realm and into more and more locomotives. The reciprocating smoke effect on the GS-series looks awesome.
I also want to take a minute to compliment Lionel on what seems like a fantastic improvement to the smoke units. I got one of the Lionmaster Big Boys and it smokes like a chimney! It's great!
I almost forgot: an operating/uncoupling track that responds to command control. This can't be more difficult than putting Legacy into the switches (which was a watershed upgrade for me).
Gosh Guys.
Is the ink on the last catalog even dry. :-)

Next catalog comes out in two months! I say keep’em coming!
Oops, sorry. I thought it came out in December.

Given how highly coveted the Atlas O engine house is - I wish Lionel would make a two stall engine house in a similar fashion.
