That's NOT all of them, just the ones that are important to me.

This year, I should be in the 2021 On30 Annual and Railroad Model Craftsman, and I'm working on other stuff...
Lee Drennen, that’s a beautiful army tanker trailer, and the flat car it’s sitting on is very neat to. You always compliment folks here on the forum, and I just wanted you to know your an inspiration to us all. I’m from Flora, graduated 1963... Now, P51 Lee, I am envious of your expertise in photography, your model railroad is very uniquely built, and although your actual train size is small, they look as big as O gauge if we didn’t know the difference. I congratulate you on having your nicely sceniced model railroad in several of the popular magazines, your wall of pictures is very nice, thanks for posting.
Lee, for all the great work and detail I would think they are all important to you! You really do some amazing work!
Lee congratulations on your plethora of published articles! Most impressive! Your layout is fabulous! You bring immense experience and expertise to our hobby and your attention to micro details and exquisite photography are to be highly recognized and celebrated. I've always greatly appreciated your willingness to share your knowledge here on the OGR Forum.
Awesome congratulations on your great work Lee...may we see many more from you..Jorge
Thanks a lot, guys. That really means a lot to me.
Lee, like Johan and Erik Lindgren your modelling, staging and photographic skills combine to bring an incredible realism to your layout.
Hey guys and gals, while doing some spring cleaning I found two of these, (same one), they are in pretty good condition for being printed in 1954. I don't collect printed material, so if any of you guys want one, email me and I will send them to you for Free. Jorge
Pat, that's a sharp looking modification!!
For today: First thing Monday morning it's back to work as usual. The Big Hook has been brought in to add muscle to the scrap loading operation. The top photo shows an old auto frame as its'just been lifted from the Chevy truck's bed and now dangling from the crane's hook. The crane slowly pivots and will lower the old frame into the gondola.
Me, far right (naturally, wearing a ET&WNC railroad t-shirt), right outside the engine house for the Ballard Terminal RR near Seattle:
FYI, the hack is SP&S (sadly deadlined for obvious truck bolster issues so we couldn't ride on it) and the SW1 is a former Milwaukee Road unit. After this shot, we all went down to the Ballard lift bridge, the BNSF yard nearby, then the south end of the UP yard at Albina to watch mainline action (which is where most the shots in my previous post were taken).
Trumptrain. The scenes you're posting of your layout reveals you're talent . I really like all the detail in each scene. Well done. I want to someday reach that much completion of detail on my layout. The attention you give to a scene is fantastic. I hope to get my layout to that level of completion. All I can say is WOW.
farmerjohn - thank you so much for you very kind words!
When I work on a scene I sort of get into a mental state of "flow" becoming absorbed into the moment. Creating scenes is a kind of meditation for me. Even as a young kid I would get into this "flow" state when creating scenes on my layout ... I just didn't realize that it was meditation when I was that age... lol! Also, as a young kid, I would find myself in this same kind of "flow" state when I played alone with my Tonka & Structo trucks in a sand or dirt pile. I think many of us here on the forum have and have had a similar experience with our hobby, be it running/watching the trains themselves or working on another aspect of our layout. Myself, I find great inner peace when working on the scenery aspect.
I consider model railroading to be an art form. I always feel a deep sense of satisfaction when others, like yourself, recognize and comment about how photos of my scenes inspire them. This satisfaction doesn't come from an egotistical place within me, rather it comes from of a place of profound gratitude in knowing my work helps others with their work ... just as other modelers, much more skilled than myself, have helped me with my work. Again thank you so much farmerjohn ... for YOUR words certainly inspire me.
FOR TODAY: " The morning switch job ... crew readys this depressed center flatcar to be pulled from the team track."
As Patrick mentioned, a model railroader can experience a meditative peace doing scenery work, running trains and making photos and videos. This happened for me in this scene:
Arnold
Well put Pat and Arnold! I really like you perspectives
A little smoke can add to one's meditative peace, and especially if it is coffee or hot chocolate scented. LOL.
My farm house has smoke. I think it's a K-Line item:
Ah the bicyclers again, Pat. Excellent scenes!

What a feast of color you give us. Patrick! This time, what I found most stunning is the yellow-orange bus, which pops out in your middle photo. You have some gorgeous vehicles in your photos, including that bus.

As man others have already said, Gandydancer, your layout and video are outstanding.
Arnold, you are so right about Pat’s and Gandydancer’s layouts.. I’ve admired both layouts for a long time.
Trumptrain. The gondola in that first photo is right on. It looks weathered and so real .It makes the scene for me with the kids on their bikes. I have said before that my trains are a therapy for me because I put myself in my model world much like what you said. Great job. May I ask what did you make you're river or lake out of. My friend and I are working on a river feature now and yours really good . Thanks Farmerjohn.

farmerjohn - thanks! The base of the lake is a piece of plywood. It's painted with lighter shades of blue around the perimeter ( to give a shallower water effect ) and incrementally changes to a darker shade of blue/back in the middle ( to give a deep water effect ). A professional artist painted the base. The base is covered with beveled plexiglass to give a rippling water effect. The entire lake drops out of the bottom of the layout which gives me access to the area around the lake which includes a huge mountain. My good friend Randy Harrison ( a fellow forumite ) deservers credit for the lake. Aside from cutting the hole in the table Randy procurred the plexiglass and plywood .. plus connected me with the artist too. The bevelled plexiglass was his idea as well. I hope this info helps you.
Pat, Randy certainly steered you in the right direction!
Today’s photograph certainly conveys the work of the brakeman

Clever. Very clever, Patrick.
For today Memorial Day 2021: Patsburg observes Memorial Day in many ways ....
Tucker Torpedos are selling like hotcakes at the Smith Bros. Automobile dealership! Their Memorial Day sale has been running since last Friday. WPBR Radio and TV have both been running these ads constantly ... " For great deals on great wheels be sure to visit Smith Brothers Automobiles in Westend Patsburg!! These Smith Brothers won't make your cough drop but their prices on new Tuckers will make your jaw drop!! Do yourself a favor and visit Smith Brothers Automobiles today!!!
A little Good Humor goes along way.
Some outdoor recreation includes rock climbing, paddling a canoe, and tubing.
Just chilling out in solitude.
Beer sales are brisk this holiday weekend! The Patsburg minor league team, The Patsburg Railers, are playing a double header today against some team from Long Island managed by that famous manager Arnold Cribari! Folks are grilling and chilling with friends. Looks like Otis, the quality control expert, with hat & crooked tie, is all tuned up for the festivities!
The Patsburg Volunteer Fire Dept's Engine 5 is headed downtown for the Memorial Day Parade.
And of course last but not least .... the real reason for Memorial Day ... REMEMBERING all who have made the ultimate sacrifice so that today's family and friends get togethers, retail and automobile sales, baseball games and backyard cookouts can happen on this day and everyday. Heartfelt gratitude to all of these fallen men and women who have made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty.
Patrick - love your stories tying people to the layout. I think I know the guy with the big beer belly in front of the Woody!
Patrick, what great photos and most of all what wonderful stories! You make every photo interesting to see what tail goes with it! If I were to take all your photos and stories and put them all together they would make a #1 best selling book! I know I would buy one!
Larry what a wonderful collections of cars for this special day to remember those who gave it all! Thank you!
Lee, it that a US Navy tonner? Also great catch of the peacock!
Jackiejr, where is everyone for todays parade? I see there are some and also that the dogs really like the hydrant! LOL
