WOW, Jackie, that's a great scene!
If you removed the upper background and put it in BW, you could fool someone into thinking that's a real location.

Trumptrain. Wow. Such great scenes . It all about the heroes of our Nation so let us never forget. Thanks for those scenes its what we need.
OK jackiejr - streets are what? what kind of people - I have never seen anything close, and the cars are really hard to find as well - who is the manufacturer? Nice job of modeling a street scene.
THX - Jeff
Thanks MikeG and Farmerjohn!
MikeG ... your words are extremely encouraging! If only there were many many many more who felt as you do, I would probably muster the mojo to begin writing that book with photos. It would be a fun project, I assure you!
For today: Its Tuesday morning down at the team track ... " After a long Memorial Day weekend it's time to get back to business as usual with a little 'Fresh Up with 7 Up'." Forman Dave, wearing hard hat, wonders how long it will take to load this trailer as he simultaneously stairs at the groundhogs roaming the junk pile in the foreground. Andy gives truck driver a hand signal to stop. Mack, dragging the pallet, gets ready to open the boxcar door. Another day another dollar!
Pat, that’s another great working railroad photograph. So there is grass in the junk yard for the ground hogs. The tractor driver had his work cut out for him not to scrape the bottom of the trailer on the track!
Thank's guys for the nice comments on the "street scene". I had placed my camera on the street, could not really see the view finder, set the timer on, and got this view of the layout that would not be seen walking around the layout. Simple idea; opens up all kinds of possible photos from a different perspective. Jeff the street/sidewalk is a rubber sheet material you can cut to fit. Bought some many years ago. Do not remember the manufacturer; do not believe they are still in business. Figures are Arttista. Vehicles; just shopped around on the net. Here is another obscured view I took while playing in the train room.
Setting the camera on the layout is a good idea, Jackie. You got a good eye level view and a stable base
Pat:
I am with Mike G, write the book! I would buy one and recommend it to all of my model train junky friends.

Lee, great Photos! I am glad you had great weather and from the look of the smile on your face I can only guess you had some fun along the way! Very Cool!
Patrick, he looks a little to friendly to be a yard supervisor! LOL I am guessing he also has some binoculars to see what the girls are doing over at Bang! Bing!
I see you have a Military train being put together in the background! It all looks great!

As Mike pointed out, you have a MB/GPW on one flat at what looks like a M4A3 "easy eight" 76MM-gunned Sherman on flatcars.
Great shot as always, and I love how most of your photos really tell a story!
Mike, Ted is a very nice guy' and as a former Military man, he is keeping a close on that US Army consist'.... If it isn't put together correctly, you'll see just how nice a guy he really is'....👺

I could see how things could change in a heart beat! LOL
Patrick,
As always, an interesting story with well proportioned compositions.
May I ask who did the 3/4 ton red and black truck? A beautiful model.
Jerry
You know Patrick, I was up at 2am west coast time and you already posted your photos and story. That means you posted around 5am your time. You sure are an early riser! Great story, I hope they didn't damage the gears!
The trumptrain express on a roll again with great shots! The worker on the left in photo 2 looks like he had a couple beers! Very Nice!

Nice pics lee'.. WHat is make/model is 2590'...? Reminds me of a C420..
Ted, 2590 is an EMD GP30. They're pretty rare on class 1 lines but a few still run out here

Thanks Jerry! The 3/4 ton truck has no manufacturer marked underneath. It is 1:43 scale and I bought it from Die Cast Direct at York a few years ago.
Thank you MikeG and Sitka! MikeG - I posted that photo just after midnight. Being a night owl ... I've rarely seen 5.am. and when I have it has been with lots of coffee and toothpicks holding my eyes open ... LOL!
FOR TODAY: Having just filled the sand dome with plenty of grit for the iron Buford, the hostler, climbs aboard. After full servicing the next stop for this H7 Consolidation will be the ready track. Cletus, to the left of the photo, wonders what kind of locomotive will he get to service next ... "perhaps one of those new fangled diesels?"

Thanks lee, I thought it may have been a GP30.. They are similar to the Alco's.. Do you ever run across any Alco's in your travels???
Great photos everyone! Lee one day I am going to have to make a trip down there to get some photos! Maybe when the wife and I get back from vacation in July. We plan on taking a train ride down the coast!
Patrick, I wish I could say that, I am up between 2 & 3am do to the wifes work and Tank the bulldog waking me up. But then again sometimes that is the only time I get to work on the layout!
I hope everyone has a great weekend! Looks like rain here, so maybe some train room time!
Mrs. 'Ski and I took a road trip to VT and NH last weekend and enjoyed a fantastic 2 1/2 hour ride and a 5 course dinner on this beauty:

Only the PA sitting in Portland, and several I saw in Scranton in 2015.
Mike, let me know if you wanna come down to watch trains, I can show you some great spots
Patrick, that's a nice front end loader. With the long engine bay in the rear it looks like a Michigan brand loader.
Here’s a public domain photo, circa 1964, of the Pioneer Zephyr on display at the Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago. It has been moved inside many years ago, but refurbished inside and out recently. A link to a March 2021 article(with photos) in the Chicago Tribune is included. Nicely done I think.

I took this Zephyr pic in NH last weekend.
FOR TODAY: The layover .... caboose tracks at dusk.
Leo stands near his cabin car as Lawford walks over to chat. Lawford is a B&O man as Leo is a Pennsy man. Rival railroads but these guys are great friends! As these cabeese provide over night lodging for their crews, there will be several poker games tonight. Last week Big Benny Smoot, a N&W conductor, darn near lost his shirt. Word has it that once his Mrs. found out, Big Benny found himself sleeping on the front porch glider. ( click on photo for enhanced view )
Pat, excellent story!
