"HONGZ" stands for HO scale, N scale, G scale, and Z scale.

Post your non-O scale stuff here!

I'm a decade-plus member on the traditional/O27 side of model railroading. As a kid, though I had some HO (that my dad set up for me). In cleaning out our recently-deceased parents' house, we stumbled upon my old HO trains. Since I've got more O Gauge than I'll ever need, I gave the HO equipment to my sister and brother-in-law. They now have 3 engines with rolling stock, a trolley, and enough buildings for a 4x8 layout but need new track and transformers.

I know nothing about HO, but I'm guessing there are varying quality and pricing levels as in O.

Any recommendations? How about a good hobby/train store in the Woodlands area of Houston where they live?

This shop is pretty decent (from what I've heard) and I think it's in the Houston area.

If you ever get up Dallas, I can recommend several decent train shops.

@ David - I agree.  KATO makes great HO track.  It's similar to Lionel Fastrack and is very user friendly.  Once you click it together, it never comes apart like the old school HO track.  You don't have to screw it down etc...  I've got some and recommend it.
