Well here is my latest restomod. A corgi Toronado. Came in a blue color, not in too bad of shape, but I still wanted to do a full restoration. There was a big blemish on the passenger door, and the pop up headlights were chrome, which I never really liked so I painted them body color. Something new I tried, painted the turbine style wheels body color as well, then followed up with silver. I think it makes the wheels really POP. Here’s the before and after.5250495F-6E71-4B6C-B7EB-ECFEBC4441F6648D177E-FCBF-43F3-A2C1-A2C8811375AA02119BE3-C1F8-4E07-BF43-4FC5920198BAD8EC5C11-D00F-456F-8DDC-6FA22325BF6739CBBF20-6CCC-40B2-819F-DE0EAB7B8B0CYou can see the wheels the best in the last photo.

Hope you like it, was not as much work as the Ambulance, but it turned out pretty sharp.

Thanks to all you guys for the kudos on my restorations. Wheels were most challenging on the Toronado, not sure I’ll do that again, but wanted to see if it would work. Again thank you all. If anyone has a corgi or dinky that they would like restored, but feel like they are not up to it, let me know. I might be willing to give that a shot. Not really sure, but maybe I could help you out.

Here’s an update on my 1960s coal hauler...I spliced a second rear axel/frame/spring pack to this White 3000. A pair of new fuel tanks and a scratch built coal dump bed round out the major surgery.  I’m working out how I’m going to add all the lights. I’m leaning towards an Evans Designs remote system with fiber optics under the coal load; we’ll see!

Rick. Looks good I noticed that top doesn’t fit quite as good as the older Revells do because the molds are wore. And on the right side of the roof is a very bad mold Mark that is from the tab.  To make this a fit better remove the tabs and fill in the bad mold line I noticed this right away on mine. Your bed looks really good and I like the Poseable wheels

Gene I never get enough of your Northport sweet shop.  Didn't know anything about Dugan's, guess they didn't cover my neighborhood in the Bronx, so I looked it up on google and your OGR post about your delivery trucks and bakery came up so I've finally seen that post too.

Coach Joe...I'm glad you like my Northport sweet shop, we used to visit it often. As for Dugan's I'm surprised you didn't see it in the Bronx. I grew up in Bellerose, Queens and Dugan's Bakery was in Queens Village. They also had a distribution center  in East Northport LI and New Jersey. My Mother worked for Dugan's in the late 1920's and early 1930's. Their competition  was Krug's Bakery with home delivery too. They had comic books they gave to the kids and sometimes we got a cookie from a broken box. Maybe home delivery was not possible in the high rise apartment buildings in the Bronx????? Their Bakery Goods were like Entermann's.

Gene, you are correct'.. Many delivery services were not available in the city due to parking and the time involved trying to deliver in a high rise... We had Dugans in  Patchogue, Sayville, and Oakdale'... And very similar to todays Enterman's'.. My Dad loved the coconut custard pies'....🥧😉
