Over the past month I got started on a new road name for my passenger train collection(Southern Pacific).  I found a brand new Lionel Southern Pacific Shasta Daylight 4 pack and a 2 pack add on 18" passenger car set for $350 at a local show and I just found a new/old stock Weaver E-8 Southern Pacific ABBA set for $275 from a train store.

Can Can anyone tell me the make of this structure?  BALSA WOOD construction.

It looks like it may have been handmade by Roy Baker, of BakersRailroadShop. Here's my reference point - my own, by Roy...

Thank you Frank. I think that’s most likely.  I’m happy to have acquired such a well-crafted structure.  Would like to look into getting others but not much info on the web about this shop, just an address.

By the way, stunning layout you have there!

For I don't know how many years I wanted a Lionel New York Central 2344. No I'm not as old as it is But I wanted one. Two days prior to Christmas I saw one at a variety store. I have done nothing but think about it until today. I now own it. Even better I ran it today and it is everything I dreamed about. First postwar engine I have bought in a very long time, it felt good.

Maybe if I get time I will add some photos, because this thing is sharp considering I paid next to nothing for if.

Thank you for the enthusiastic approval !

If you would like his phone number, it is now: (845)887-0079. He hand-crafts other structures, too.

Have you seen some of his imported figures he has hand-painted, such as these I have?plenty of work to doIMG_0832x

New here. Been lurking for a few weeks. My wife bought me a LionChief Albert Hall Set about a 10 days before Christmas and I bought the Harry Potter RTR set a few days before that.  Had been looking for the  O gauge "A Christmas Story " RTR set for my wife. Looked for a while.  Could  only find the "G" gauge battery set but I bought one of those a few years ago at Target after Christmas. Have had a lot of fun with it but just recently discovered that they had made an O gauge set so I was sent out by my wife to  find one. Lost out to one on eBay Christmas eve. Some one jumped my bid at the last second and I lost it. Well today I was able to get the last new one on the internet through Amazon. They had one at an outrageous price of $700 but I was able to email the 3rd party seller and make a deal for a more reasonable price. So We have one on the way. In a matter of weeks I went from  only one O Gauges set ,a 1952 Lionel Postwar 2032 Erie ALCO Diesel AA freight set (My first train set) to 3 new sets.  Now I have to hide my debit card for a while and save up for materials for the layout.

Yes,  have been acquiring some K-Line aluminum cars for an excursion train. Latest are these 21" B&O and New Haven plus an 18" Santa Fe Dome.  Also the NYC RPO and NP Baggage.

Looking for an 18" Baggage & RPO in (preferably) unpainted silver but any line would be OK.IMG_9170IMG_9176IMG_9171IMG_9173IMG_9177

Went to LHS (Brentwood Antiques) today and picked up  an F-7 PanAm Railways to go with my PanAm passenger cars.  I still haven't fired it up yet, but it looks good, and I'm not a car body diesel fan..   I like the access to the controls through the rear door.

PanAm operates the section of tracks that the Amtrak Downeaster from Boston to Maine uses in NH.  PanAm runs excursions in Maine in nice weather.

Brentwood Antiques is having a Winter Sale right now with some pretty good buys.  I want to go back for more.  I think the bourbon/rocks is talking now!
