Two new items:  The Amtrak F59PHI is replacing the Amtrak Acela on the overhead layout.  The Acela wasn't pulling as before, when running more than a half hour at one time.  I checked everything, lubed everything, cleaned everything.  The inside doesn't even have a spec of dust after 5 years.  The motor was trying to pull, tires weren't spinning, and a little push would get it going again, but, not for long.   Please let me know if you have any ideas.

The F59 looks and runs great, and I love those silver trucks.  You can just see the Acela, parked on my long spur.

I replaced the old, original 1950's station with this new, plug and play.  The New Haven colors and sign convinced me.  The action is cool.  I chopped the Lionel power three-prong plug, first time I've done that, because I needed to combine the wires leading to the kiosk.

If you noticed the missing pantograph, fear not, all is well.  It popped off when I was cleaning the engine.  Back now.

Did you disassemble the trucks to put the eye on the gears.  A lot going on there.  I have 2 sets and they run a lot better after red and tacky grease.

Menards billboard arrived and it looks pretty good! And worth a mention b/c I haven't seen it posted elsewhere: there's nothing preventing you from inserting the included decals with the backing still on, making replacement a 10 second job. Everything's cut-to-size and there's no watermark on the backing. To my (still pretty good) eyes, the display's only a hair dimmer. As these billboards are already plenty bright, it's hardly an issue.

Also rec'd a a bunch of Menards boxcars. As you can see, I'm an unfaithful tramp when it comes to lines.

I have what is easily my most extravagant accessory purchase awaiting delivery (from an ORG sponsor to boot!); very excited to see & show when it arrives.

One of my favorite caboose types is the PRR designed N8. I already had examples of the PRR and Conrail varieties and now I've added this Penn Central version. Interesting note: the white stripe along the side represents an early PC scheme.  The white stripe was later eliminated as a cost saving measure. Yes, money really was that tight.

I purchased this little K-Line MP-15 BNSF Switcher from a seller on our OGR Forum, it is nice, also conventional and will pull my little track cleaning car around the layout. Great great pictures everyone. Have a great weekend. Happy Railroading 61EEA723-FE14-4394-B234-1AC8C623084E

That's a great engine Larry. I have a bunch of K-line MP-15's and I love em. I will note that I've re-wired mine in series to slow them down below light speed.

Dropped into Legacy Station on Saturday to (only) pick up a pre-ordered MTH Railking Stone Mountain Railroad GP9 but the missus had other ideas - I guess I am truly blessed that the missus encourages me rather than the alternative!

The engine sounds and runs great - my only (slight) criticism is the green is a bit too "pea" for my taste and is a few shades off from the real deal. Still, happy with the locomotive overall!

New Woodland Scenics fence system - pretty happy with how they look and how easy they are to install. We picked up two kits, one for our station platform (seen here) and one to serve as a dog park - I still need to paint the dog park ones black:

We've been toying with the idea of a water tower in the back corner of our layout and the wife immediately located the new Woodland Scenics one on the shelf, so it came home with us as well:

And lastly, a set of LED-donning MTH Railking reefers - I had been toying with the idea of getting a set since first seeing them before the holidays but held off. Once the wife saw them all lit up, the decision was made:

I recently purchased a Lionel AC6000 CSX Diversity engine #5000. I wondered why its' original MSRP was so high but once I received it, I began to understand. First, it is very heavy and longer than a SD70Ace, plus it has two speakers for great sound and it has tons of intricate detail. It is one heck of a smoker and runs very smoothly 👍. The real icing on the cake was I got it for almost half off due to the dealer wanting to get rid of old stock.IMG_20200127_154645IMG_20200127_154733IMG_20200127_154800IMG_20200127_154712

I live in CSX Country and that’s a really good looking diesel. That one was on my bucket list, were there any other ones on the shelf? NS1975, Beautiful layout and thanks for posting pictures. Lionels AC6000’s have awesome sounds and are great pullers. (4 Lionel AC6000’s, Legacy controlled, Rolling Thunder). Happy Railroading 7170795A-BF99-4B75-B226-E2FD0764C930

Unfortunately, I got the last one and I kinda feel like kicking myself because they actually had both #5000 and #5001 for sale at a.great price and by the time I checked again #5001 was gone. Your layout is very impressive 👏.

Bryant, no, but that's probably what it is.  We've been happily playing golf, setting a new record for the earliest rounds for us.  I'll get to that Amtrak at some point.

Guys, all the new stuff looks really good.  I gotta check out that WS fencing kit.

2057C459-3372-4E52-9990-3CCCA3388FF1Since I’ve been going to the gym I get to watch Eric Siegel do his product videos for our review. He recently did the Atlas O Oil pump, the red bird version. I was so pleased with his observations that I had to get 1. I’ve watched many of his videos while walking for 30 minutes to 55 minutes on the treadmill.  Wow. Although my gym is closed now do to the coronavirus, now I can wire it up. Happy Railroading

On the only part of the layout not being renovated, these 4 PRR cars are led by a Proto 2 S-2 PRR Steam Turbine

imageFirst “New MArx” Train”. The Hummer is a Kinsmart(UN letters added). Ameritowne Flag Stop Station. The Schuco Disney Monorail Transformer- if I ever acquire it(one can dream). Also a Kiusan City Services Car

Santa Fe 218 Dummy in much better condition than my current one(won via auction at auction house- same with the schuco)! And this K-line “Mainline America”(by Lemax) Logging co- Found on the back shelf behind some other items at my LHSF649011B-DBAE-4934-9EBE-3A489F46BF26

Also got a K-line unloading ramp- very similar to the “Mainline America” pieces”. This is from the end of my layout which is undergoing renovation. So not it’s permanent home but I’d like to incorporate it on a stub siding with the Logging Coimage
