I am thinking about double heading a Vision Lionel articulated and a TMCC Sunset 3rd rail articulated; wanting to run one of the engines in reverse ( tender to tender) at the same time.
I have legacy control; can this be accomplished smoothly?

Probably not. If you succeed, you'll have to run them in TMCC mode, and the chance of the gear ratios being compatible is probably somewhat dim. You have to run the TMCC as the "lead" locomotive as the MU has to be built in TMCC mode.

Thank you for the reply. Would the answer be different if both engines were TNCC only, Rail Sounds 4?
My experience has been that similar TMCC engines will do OK generally, but dissimilar ones typically will not fare so well. For Legacy or PS/2 MU configurations, they normally work quite well, even with dissimilar types of locomotives.
