Welp, THEY sure ain't afraid to run 'em! I can't believe the inside guys stay upright at that speed. I wonder if they are the "G-Plus" versions I hope those that "went over the cliff" are okay. I wonder if they've considered guardrails...

Top photo shows multiple front ends on my wall while the lower is the handsome USA Trains 1:29 scale Husdon #5344.

Please note the Gargraves 'Standard' gauge track that appears to be very close to scale for our American prototypes. Much mo' better than that narrow gauge brass stuff!  Lol.

Running a little late today.  Nothing fancy, just some front end images of my new (to me) MTH A5 compared to my K-Line A5.  The MTH showed up today a couple days early, and I just now took it out of the box for the images.

The MTH version is suppose to be scale (1:48), and it is noticeably smaller than the K-Line.

I realize the K-Line is many years old, but the detail on the MTH is so much better.  I wonder if Lionel added more detail after they acquired the K-Line molds?

HAPPY FRONT END FRIDAY all.

       #3............       B & O  early morning start up.

        #4...........        my FEF from a few weeks ago.

        # 5  and #6...........finished carving the Magnificent Seven  (  NOT  THE  WESTERN  )  ( JUDY'S  REQUESTED CHRISTMAS PRESENT ) and  have them 'floating '  in the stairwell going down to our  ' work ' areas .

Time to get used to settling back with some cold ones and getting some  layout run / maintanence / photo and forum time .

We do have to sing the 7 dwarfs Heigh Ho song though when we pass by the carving.  Nice when Judy sings it........maybe not the greatest when I do.

@C.Sam, I just wanted to compliment you on your beautiful wall of trains, all are beautiful, then, on your mantle is a true masterpiece, the 1.29 scale USA J1e Hudson, it’s massive, and possibly a rare Locomotive. Thank you for the beautiful pictures. @Mike CT, your picture of the front of the Weaver A5 is awesome, it’s a beautiful locomotive, I do miss Weaver Mfg., and K-Line Mfg., @TrainBubb,  Wow, that’s a beautiful corner of blue diesels, it’s a wow, @Dallas Joseph, thank you for the likes you’ve given me and others, your layout is cool with the night setting, and the 7 Dwarfs plaque or display piece is beautiful, it’s cool., @Woodd, that’s a beautiful Amtrak set on a really beautiful layout, your scenery is awesome, Today, my pictures are from a friends layout that I visited in Kentucky, actual steam locomotives on an outdoor G Gauge layout that really are powered by steam. This live steam rolling stock collection and "garden pike" is fantastic! The "flatcar steamer" photos remind me of the live steam engine my Dad got me in 1970. He got me the electric one so I wouldn't burn the house down. It's nearly O-scale and is based on the engines used to run the elevators in coal mines. Dad and I used to run it together. It still runs great now, after all these years, and makes me think of Dad every time I fire it up:

I had a similar live steam engine too Bill. Mine had the drivers mounted to the boiler frame. It ran on denatured alcohol if I recall.

The front quarter with the "Daylight" skirts.  I actually have a set of matching "Daylight" passenger cars but attaching them would make a train so long, it would go around my layout without moving.

Beautiful, Don - one of my all-time favorite engines. When I got really into trains after college, one of my early purchases was the MPC version of the 4449 (the 8307 from 1983… can you say mighty sound of steam ). It was state of the art in it’s day, but in 2018, I upgraded to a Legacy version. REALLY big!!! You’ve really got to find some additional real estate for bigger curves Here’s a comparison of the two before I re-homed the 8307.

For the first pic, of New England Central, I had to jump out my hotel window and race  21 miles to Bellows Falls, VT. Didn't expect the rain to look so good. For the second two pics, all I had to do was waddle downstairs...LOL. Its a P&W loco on the bridge, but that was the only way I could get Genesee & Wyoming colors. Guilford helper sits below.

I was down looking at my Atlas Erie-Built AB (both powered) trying to decide what I wanted to do with them.  These, as well as my Atlas RS-1, run well when my PSX circuit protection is set at 15 amps, but "pop" the breaker when set at 8 amps.  These three engines, my only ones with TAS boards, are the only engines with this issue.  Try to fix, replace the TAS boards with ERR boards, or sell to someone without the PSX boards?  Still evaluating, but I do really like these engines.
