"HONGZ" stands for HO scale, N scale, G scale, and Z scale.

Post your non-O scale stuff here!

Looking at and admiring this engine.

Current price is $8,000.00 on ebay.

This is to me a work of art but I wonder is this worth twice as much as a comparable Gauge 1 engine from KM 1.

While it features digital sound, it does not have the smoke features found on KM 1 engines for half the cost.

Actually Gauge 1 engines are not considerably larger than our O gauge engines from Lionel, MTh and Sunset 3rdrail

I realize that this is a subjective question but would like your opinion..

Thank you!

This Fulgurex locomotive was produced some years ago, but after the passing of Count Coluzzi who had nothing to do with this product. It sold out; so this seller has inflated the price a bit (which he always does).

The difference with KM1 is, beside the number of locomotives produced of one type, the amount of detailing. If a little bit more detailing is added the price doubles and there are customers prepared to pay.

I think KM1 should stop making only German trains and produce some of these wonderful French locomotives, but I assume i will have to wait long for that.

Fred

Interesting to see that $8000 only warrants 2 photographs and a very minimal description. I’ve put considerably more effort into selling much less expensive items.

I agree. This is supposedly a brand new item.  Maybe still sealed in original box.  I sent them a question regarding lights and a smoke unit and they did not answer.  I have no idea if the instructions are in English either.

Fred, would you know how to contact Fulgurex to see in the instructions are in English also.  Don't know any French.

Also, are you saying that Fulgurex engines are more detailed than KM 1?

Thank you

Fulgurex can be easily contacted in English via email: fulgurex.sa@bluewin.ch. Their website is also available  in English http://fulgurex.ch/en/index.html. Instructions that I have seen, but I have not seen all, are in German and French.

Fulgurex, Lematec and Wunder make high end models in small series. KM1 and Kiss make nicely detailed models in larger series for use on gauge 1 layouts with in general smaller radius. Sometimes they also issue a more detailed locomotive in a smaller series like this Kiss locomotive: https://www.kiss-modellbahnen....-003-vollverkleidet/ which cost more then $10000.

Fred

Nice! Probably just as much detail underneath as on top, but Fulgurex was always for a narrow band of wealthy Euro-train fanciers. The 2018-19 catalog has a coupe of real bugs I see... http://www.fulgurex.ch/catalog...talogue2018-

Firewood, Thank you for the catalog
