Since I decided to not sell my Williams GG1, I'm thinking upgrade to TMCC, but, I'm getting the feeling that the only available sound board is not that good or accuratte? Any thoughts?

If you go to the ERR site you can hear the sound for yourself. Judge for yourself.

I have,I'm asking how accuratte, and any that have, satisfied? I'm one of those that never heard or been around one when running.
Josef,
Okay, I also never heard one of these, many years back I can remember the street cars in the Milwaukee area, but the main thing I remember of these was the clang of the bell. I am sure there are some here that have heard the GG1, Hope you get an answer.

It's somewhat of a moot point as that's the only sound file available for TMCC. FWIW, it's the same sound file for the JLC GG-1, so at some point Lionel must have thought it was reasonably accurate.

Have you already contacted ERR for the source used for their sound file?
OK, it's been a few years since i rode the "clocklers" between Philadelphia and Newark on a weekly basis one summer long ago. But to my ears the current (NEW RailSounds Commander) sound file being used by ERR is not as accurate as the sound file used in the earlier (OLD w/RS4 RailSounds Commander). I have installed both for customers and personally prefer the earlier sounds. The GG1 horn was sort of a high pitched squawk compared to a diesel horn.

The new file does have a different sound than the RS4 board, the RS4 board sounds a lot like a wounded duck. My understanding, not having ever seen the GG1 in operation, the older one is closer to the prototype.
Try this video at the 4:25 mark, he honks the horn a couple of times coming into the station.

I heard some say the horn sound is closer to the Williams as installed, compared to the available board TMCC
FWIWTU, I have a K-Line GG1 that is a factory TMCC, when I first heard it, it sounded like the old Alco diesels of the 50's area, that the Monon had running out of Louisville, Ky. I didn't like them at the time either!
I have never heard a GG1, but would have like to have had that experience. I've saw the movie of the last run of "Big Red".
Assuming those sounds on the movie were the actually sounds of that big electric, it don't sound like my K-Line sounds at all.
Not unlike a Legacy 2 truck Lionel Shay I bought for my grandson for getting his grades up at school. Those engine sounds are a joke compared to the ones that run everyday at Cass, Wva. I guess that just getting old, I expect too much for $900.00. Excuse, we ain't talking bout Shay's are we!.........Brandy!
