When I launch the iPAD app I get an message, this application could be slowing down your iPad.  I have seen this from other apps as well.  Upon research I have come across the that this app was created for 32-bit IOS.  They are supporting both 32-bit and 64-bit apps for now.  I have also read that after IOS 11 comes out, they will no longer support 32-bit apps, which means if anyone upgrades or gets a new iPAD with IOS 11, the app will not function.

Has this been considered and looked into so we don't lose access once apple makes the switch?

In a few weeks were are going to launch an entirely new app for the OGR Digital Library. I don't know if the new app is 32 bit or 64 bit because we don't do this development in house. MAZ Digital built the new app for us.  It had to be approved by Apple, so I have to assume it's a 64 bit app or they would not approve it.

It will be a "Native App" whatever that means.
