A couple of years ago I bought the Union Pacific 9000. It has run very well since placing it on the track, still does. However recently when I run it is not smoking and the cab interior light flickers. I am running legacy. When I got it I ran it out of the box. Does it need to be reprogramed. Any help greatly appreciated. Thanks Paul

How many times does the cab light blink? If it blinks 3 times then the smoke unit has stopped working, and you'll have to send it to Lionel to get it repaired. That happened to me with my Legacy mikado.
Yes, if its blinking, then its probably the smoke unit. You can try to do a Reset, and if that does not correct the problem, it will need to go into repair. I think there were a BUNCH of defective smoke units..... If you have a Lionel Repair near to you, You could take the engine there. If not, get an RA From Lionel.....Happy Railroading
try pushing the "R" button three times. if the smoke unit does not reset it will shut down and the light will work normally. the unit will have to go back for smoke motor work.
Thanks for the feedback. I'll have to go back up to the attic later to see if the cab lights blink all the time. Question..........where is the reset button to press three times. Thanks again for all the help .....Paul
