I’m new to legacy and need a wee bit of help. The memory modules I understand are used to load info to engines and the remote but as for the writeable ones, can new info for an engine (such as new announcements) be put onto it and loaded onto the engine? And another question is the program used to update and load things to the modules, where do I get this program and does it cost anything? Thanks

The chip is only just for info to be uploaded on the remote so you know which engine it is. The chip with the upgrades, I borrow another club member so I don’t know how the cost and other things workout
Is there anyway to change the announcements on a legacy engine? The reason I ask is that I have a CP 914 and it’s been redone as Casey Jones. When I use Towercom or crewtalk, I hear CP 914 and that doesn’t sound right coming from ICRR 382.

I would contact Lionel, they might have put the wrong sound chip in the loco...

I should’ve worded that better. It was a CP 914 but I repainted it as ICRR 382. It’s a custom I wanted to add new sounds to. Unfortunately Lionel never made either of Casey Jones’ engines

Oh, unfortunately you can’t really do anything with it unless you can buy a soundboard with a generic crew talk and a sound set smiliar to it. Your other option is to not use the crew talk anymore.

to add to Tim's comment, with Lionel Legacy nothing is stored in the handheld, all information is stored in the base.
you do not really need the module as you can use the handheld and input the info.
