Noticed this evening that one of my Legacy Powermaster 360's (6-32883) was leaking some voltage when I had it turned off. Measured to be about 9 volts so very noticeable.
Did you put a small load on while measuring? There can be some microcurrent leakage from output devices or capacitive coupling. An incandescent bulb usually loads it so that you can measure the real output.
I did put a load on it. It leaks 9 volts when commanded off. 18.5 volts or so being fed to it. I have two on the layout, this one just started this behavior last night...
Oh. That's different...does sound like an issue. I have seen some of my 180 PH leak a few volts after they trip out. The voltage usually shows up after I remove the short and before I push the reset. Hmmm...
Agreed. I eliminated the possibility the voltage was leaking from anywhere else as I removed the Powermaster and jumped directly to my distribution panel from the power source. No longer any leak when the transformer is powered down... Off to Lionel with it I suppose.
