Was checking out Nassau Hobby after July 4th sale when I noticed several new CNW items: WiFi Theater Car, NE-5 caboose and roof hatch boxcars. All are listed as new for pre-order. Did a quick search for PRR and there were 21 inch South Wind passenger cars and shark nose diesels. There are roof hatch boxcars for Central of Georgia, Monon, UP and Southern. Looks like Nassau might have the volume 2 items listed.
Found this little gem while digging through the website. Too bad I only run 0-60 curves. Most likely I’ll pick up a boxcar or some rolling stock this catalog around.

Reviewed more of the preorder page. Pennsy s1, and also Pennsy genset switchers. I've always wanted a genset switcher.
Looked through all 36 Pre-Order pages, I tried searching for several items that have item numbers starting with "21" on Lionel.com, all returned "No Results." Not too difficult to figure out that those are probably in the upcoming catalog.
It took the last page for me to find something out of this catalog - a Western Maryland PS-2 hopper.
I put "pre-order" in the search function at Nassau Hobbies and found 37 pages of stuff. I assume the items without pictures are from the new catalog as they looked unfamiliar. One thing I noticed was a fair number of LionChief +2.0 locos with MSRP a few hundred dollars below typical Legacy locos. Another was the continued proliferation of freight cars with Nassau Hobby prices of not much more than $33. These prices are certainly more affordable than the higher end Lionel products. Even a steam loco for under $200 (LionChief, probably no speed control), which is pretty much unheard of until recently.
After hounding them for years for a Rutland 4-6-0 featured in a set with unique milk cars. They are offering at least the engine. I have already sacrificed 3 Northern Pacifics with relettering jobs. I already have done #79. But will probably purchase one and renumber the one I have. Hopefully all the white striping on the running boards and wheels will be present on it.
there looks to be a remake of rock island 1274 for 350 bucks and then there is the US ARMY sharks that i have no chance with so far besides a thin chance with 1274 there is nothing for me to afford . hate how college is a hoover that sucks up my cash
Found a few more interesting items. Can't wait to see what they look like on Wednesday.

Going through the Nassau Hobby page; this is going to be a big catalog. Pennsylvania S-1 in Tuscan. How about the 2-8-8-2 Clinchfield? This little set looked nice as well.

This NYC Xplorer set, if done correctly, should sell well.

Reading through all the posts, I thought about what I would really buy if Lionel produced it. So, Lionel, I will buy these if in the catalog.

-Legacy PRR E6s 4-4-2 in post WWII paint scheme.
-Legacy PRR S2 6-8-6 with smoke deflectors
-Legacy PA-1 ABA in as built green scheme (DGLE w/5-stripes). All powered with sound.
-X-31a boxcar with correct color.
-Legacy Southern Railway E6 AA/AB/ABA in pre-1949 paint scheme (green/white with double bands)
OR
-Legacy Southern Railway E7 AA/AB/ABA in pre-1949 paint scheme (green/white with double bands)
New tooling (yes, we will never see these)

Looks like the Baldwin RF-16 shark nose diesel with standard passenger cars. The prototype was a low slung custom built locomotive from Baldwin and short 2 axle passenger cars.

Too late for my requests... but I'd still like a LionChief Plus 2.0 #221 Dreyfus(they must still have the tooling, right?)... and a LionChief Plus 2.0 Baby K4s... or a LionChief Plus 2.0 PRR L1s made with the Baby K4 tooling.

I was going to ask the same question but you beat me to it. I did a google search and nothin really came up except a few Grif Teller talking points. No real definitive answer.
So... will the PRR fans out there please let us know what this means?

My guess it will be decorated as it appears on the calendar artwork (winged keystone on the front and what appears to be raised lettering,) which differs from in how it appeared in service.

OK, well that makes sense, I just had not seen the picture or even noticed the difference from art work to actual prototype. I guess we will know for sure in a few days. Thanks for posting N&W guy.

I'm excited about the Pullman, Dover Harbor. My family and I rode on it many times over the years. My sons and I were part of a group called The Anthracite Adventurers that leased it regularly; great car, great staff, great memories! I even had it the consist of one of my trains at Steamtown years ago. I'm sure to pick up one of these. Its one of those PVs you can prototypically tack on to the end of your Amtrak trains.
Hopefully a scale set of "Fleet of Modernism" Cars will also be cataloged. I have not seen anyone talk about that yet for the S1.

If they do FOM cars I would like them in the 21” length, and a few as separate sale (no baggage or RPO cars).
A few cars painted in the FOM scene made it to the 50s. One or two to mix in with my GGD/K-Line 21” cars would be great.

I'm conflicted on this one but agree with you. I would like to have separate sale cars, but I just don't see Lionel doing the set without baggage and/or RPO. So do you take two sets and make one somewhat proper set to get the extra cars or do you just wait for a set to pop up from 3rd rail (unlikely)?
The other issue I have is that (as you kind of mentioned in an earlier post I think) a whole rake of FOM cars was not a likely event except for publicity... but its my railroad and I think the FOM cars were nicest scheme made. For this particular engine, I would not be looking for prototype consist accuracy, but rather what I think the designer might have come up with. I know I'm in the minority on this one. Either way, we will know on Wednesday, unless Pete has something to add as he seems to have some information (good it sounds like) regarding the engine and cars.

Really like the Pullman Pool Service pack, might order one of those. As a NYC fan, I wish they didn't use a regular RF-16, but beggars cant be choosers.
