-How many different color combos and tender combos did the 260E come with?
-Also was the chugger and pendulum reverse unit standard on all of them?
-Ive noticed gunmetal and black versions so far. were there anymore and what years were they available?

Here are the ones I'm aware of:
Black with green frame; this came with both the 8-wheel and 12-wheel tender
Black with black frame and cream stripe on the side of the frame and cream stripe on the side of the tender frame; I'm pretty sure this variation only had the 8-wheel tender
Gunmetal; this variation came with a gunmetal 263T tender instead of a 260T

TCA made a book called "Lionel, standard of the world." There are at least two editions. It covers all the prewar Lionel and all the variations. There are a number of them on eBay right now.
Get a hold of my articles in the TCA Quarterly. Lays out all the variations... 5 major and 15 minor variants... found at least 1 more that I didn't know existed since.
