This weekend, I decided to purchase a USA trains "Ultimate Series" center cupola B&O caboose to hang behind my recently acquired LGB A-B-A diesels. The rationale being an LGB or USA Trains observation car would be 30 or 33 inches in length and not practical for my LGB R2 radius. So I will have a deluxe "caboose hop" on my pike! LOL!
"HONGZ" stands for HO scale, N scale, G scale, and Z scale.
Post your non-O scale stuff here!

This cab has a lighted and detailed interior with a brakeman figure. Also lighted marker lights, which remain on with a capacitance circuit when stopped and a working smoke unit, which I will not use! And it is a traditional RED! Works for me! LOL!
The USA Trains model is approximately prototypical, but the cupola windows have obviously been modified on this actual caboose plus the side windows have shades.

USA Trains by the late, great Charlie Ro delivered a nicely proportioned and detailed 1:29 caboose. To access both the smoke unit and a 9 volt battery holder, the cupola is removable by simply squeezing two tabs and lifting. This caboose has a battery charging circuit INSTEAD of a more desirable capacitance circuit which would have eliminated the battery. The idea is to keep the marker lights lit when the train is stopped. I will neither be using the smoke unit nor the charging circuit which switches off. I should note this caboose is visually smaller than the 1:29 scale USA Trains B&O 40 foot PS-1 boxcar which I also acquired. (?)

It looks to me that USA trains took a Northeast Caboose design and painted it into many RR flavors. I bet that hack would make a fine Reading RR caboose!
For sure! Probably a lot like my childhood Gilbert Flyer Reading hack! :-)
