About 3 days ago, the E-Mail notifications of forum topics ceased. I have been a forum member or many years and never had this happen. I use Microsoft Edge as my browser. I still get my private E-Mails. I contacted Alan Arnold.  Alan said that I was the only report of such a problem. I checked my forum settings, and all seem to be as they were when things were working. I also went into the browser setting and deleted all cookies and browsing history. I still get no E-Mails from the forum. I also checked my spam folder. The E-Mails are not there. I turn off the computer every night and do a cold boot in the morning to no avail. Do any of you have any further suggestions?

Thank you.

Randy,

Based on your description of Alan's comments it seems that the emails should be going out, but aren't being received on your end.

I would suspect that a filter has been turned on that was not previously turned on.  This could be in your settings on your computer.  However since you didn't describe making any changes recently to it this isn't likely.  Perhaps a recent automatic update to your operating system has caused what you're seeing?  You could try reversing the most recent update and see if that fixes the problem..

Also, it could be that your internet service provider has recently instituted a new filter in their email service for some reason.  From what I've heard Verizon loves to do this without warning.  Do you have Verizon service?

I've put a backup in place.  I set up email retrieval on my phone in addition to my computer.  I have different providers for phone and internet service.  Fortunately one of them always works when the other has an issue.  For you of course this would only a temporary solution at best but at least you could receive your email until the original problem can be corrected.

Randy, you are confusing your web browser (MS Edge) with your email client, whatever that is. The Edge browser settings have nothing to do with email. What app do you use to get your email?

As others have said, some new filter has likely been activated on the receiving end somewhere. It could be your ISP, or it could be your email settings.

Make sure that “alerts@crowdstack.com” is in your email address book. That is the “FROM” address on the emails. Confirm that and we’ll go from there.

Gentlemen:

Thank you all for your suggestions. I have tried to investigate each thought that you have provided to no avail. I think I just do not know for what I am looking. My AOL.com account is now also blocking me from sending, via E-Mail attachment, photos from my phone. All of this worked until about Thursday of last week and had been working for years.

I hope you are well and enjoying retirement.

Per your suggestion, I have added alerts@crowdstack.com to my AOL contact list. What is your next suggestion?

I am well and every day is Saturday!

Go to the website that texgeekboy linked to. Check the steps there carefully to see if there is anything there that may fix this. It has to be something in the AOL email settings that has changed.

If nothing there helps, I think you will have to contact AOL tech support for this. They will want to know where the mail is coming from, and that is the "alerts@crowdstack.com" address.

Crowdstack Tech Support checked into this and found that you have the "Suspend All Email Notifications" option checked in your OGR Forum notification settings. That's why you are not getting any emails. Unfortunately this is not something I can change for you.

Go to your Notification settings, uncheck that and you'll be back in business.
