How about a jet powered model train? Big enough to ride in?
"HONGZ" stands for HO scale, N scale, G scale, and Z scale.
Post your non-O scale stuff here!

Well John,
That's different.????
Quick side note to you.
I looked for you at York just to say hi. I was in and out fast .
Seen Marty, GGG, Alan, and several others. OGR booth was so crowed couldn't even get close to it and I had little time in the hall , saw Rich and crew from distance. Got to meet several others but was so fast none of them I met will remember me .
Maybe get you that cold drink????? on my second York trip.
Will be a more time to socialize with some luck. It sure was a fun time up there. It went way to fast.

Yep, saw a lot of folks, but it's impossible to see everyone. I'm around the Henning's Trains booth at I & J in the center of the Orange hall a lot, but I was out and around looking for that elusive treasure.
Next time.
Nice
How long before someone uses one of those engines for a working NYC jet snowblower model? I would suggest G gauge outdoors though.
Nick
It would clear the tracks I expect.
there was a full size jet propelled prototype locomotive with jet engines mounted on the roof. so this is not so farfetched.

Looks like someone put a Peel Trident on rails, but this could be the next amusement park thing.
He forgot to say "Hey honey, hold my beer and watch this!"
I was impressed by the trackage. Wonder what scale and where it is?
From the YT Description
A&B No.30 locomotive propelled by gas turbine engine.
It is 5inch gauge ride in type.
The movie shows the fire up of engine and start.

Yes: You are correct. You read my comment, about this video. I had YT translate my comment to the creators home language. You just won an ice cream cone, coming in a NYC Reefer Car.

Pretty slick contraption there. It is always amazing to me what some people can come up with and the things actually work. From the sound of that thing revving up, I kept waiting for it to 'blast off' at a high rate of speed right into a tree or something, like Wile E. Coyote. I didn't see 'Acme' anywhere on the equipment though, probably why it worked as was intended?
Hey, I've got one of those, only for my RC F9F panther jet. 18 lbs thrust so not likely to move a full size person!

On the subject of jet-powered trains, M-497 still holds the speed record for conventional rail vehicles in North America - nearly 50 years ago. I recall reading an insider's account, alleging the speed run was somewhat reckless with the railcar practically airborne on grade crossing bumps.
